A female devotee killed after a boulder falls on a bus at Badrinath Highway , the accident was a major one


Chamoli. A tragic accident occurred on Friday in the Bhanerpani area on the Badrinath National Highway. A passenger bus heading towards Badrinath Dham was struck by a massive boulder that suddenly fell from the hill. One female devotee died in the accident, while two other passengers were injured.

According to information received, the bus was passing through the Bhanerpani area when a boulder suddenly fell from the hill and landed on the bus.
There was chaos at the scene after the accident. The local administration, police and relief teams immediately reached the scene and took the injured to the hospital. A 26-year-old resident of Uttam Nagar, Delhi was seriously injured in the accident. She was taken to the hospital for treatment, where she died during treatment. A resident of Kanpur (Uttar Pradesh) was also seriously injured and after first aid, she was referred to the District Hospital, Gopeshwar.

The third injured, a resident of Laxman Vihar, Gurugram, was discharged from the hospital after first aid.

Traffic on the Badrinath Highway was also disrupted following the accident. Amidst the continuous rain and incidents of stone falling from the mountains during the Chardham Yatra, the administration has appealed to pilgrims to take necessary precautions before undertaking the journey, based on the weather and road conditions. An atmosphere of mourning has gripped the area following the accident.
