SDRF saves the lives of 15 trekkers amid dense fog and rain

Chamoli. A joint team of SDRF and ITBP rescued a 15-member trekking team that had lost their way amid dense fog, darkness, and continuous rain in the Badrinath region.
The team, from a drone adventure tracking company, had set out from Ghamsali towards Badrinath but lost their way due to bad weather near the “Musa Pani” area above the Muchukund Cave. Patrolling ITBP personnel spotted the trekkers, who were signaling for help with flashlights and voice calls, and then informed the SDRF.
The SDRF team, led by Additional Sub-Inspector Deepak Mehta, after about one and a half hours of hard work amidst difficult paths, dense fog and rain, reached all the trekkers and brought them back safely.
During the rescue, 75-year-old trekker Uday Pranjal was given special assistance and brought out safely. Trekking team director Narendra Singh Rawat appreciated the prompt action and service spirit of SDRF and ITBP and expressed his gratitude to the entire team.
