Philanthropic legendary woman,wife of IT magnate and mother in law of Britain’s PM Sudha Murthy nominated to Rajya Sabha by President Draupadi Murmu

The philanthropic legendary woman, wife of IT magnate Narayan Murthy and the mother in law of the Britan’s Prime minister of Indian origin Rishi Sunak Mrs Sudha Murthy has been nominated to Rajya Sabha by president Draupadi Murmu today.

The prime minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Mrs Sudha Murthy on the social media platform X posting his picture while greetings her in person. The prime minister wrote :

I am delighted that the President of India has nominated Sudha Murthy Ji to the Rajya Sabha. Sudha Ji’s contributions to diverse fields including social work, philanthropy and education have been immense and inspiring. Her presence in the Rajya Sabha is a powerful testament to our ‘Nari Shakti’, exemplifying the strength and potential of women in shaping our nation’s destiny. Wishing her a fruitful Parliamentary tenure.

While responding to the greetings of prime minister newly nominated Rajya Sabha member Sudha Murthy wrote on X annexing the congratulatory message of PM : Thank you honourable prime minister Narendra Modiji. It is my privilege and honour to be nominated to the Rajya Sabha by our hon’ble president of India Smt.Draupadi Murmuji. I am very grateful for giving me the opportunity to serve the nation wrote Sudha Murthy on X.

Sudha Murthy who is a renowned philanthropist, wife of a prominent IT magnate and founder of Infosys Narayanmurthy and mother in law of British PM Rishi Sunak is also a recipient of Padma Vibhushan for her outstanding social work and philanthropic activities. Extremely popular for social activities she was an Engineer by profession having started her career in TELCO, TATA being the first and only woman engineer among men. A prolific author of several books, translated in different languages Sudha Murthy helps financially the poor, down trodden, women and especially children in education, health and women empowerment fields for decades. She was also the chairperson of Infosys foundation and is an educator as well.
