News of a tragic road accident has emerged from the Chamba region of Tehri Garhwal.

According to information, on the night of June 17, 2026, an Alto car number UK07 TC 1995 lost control and fell into a 200-meter-deep gorge near Dholagiri on the Kumalda motorway.

The driver, Amarpal, son of Jai Singh, resident of Saraswati Bihar, Deepnagar, Ajabpur Kala, Dehradun, died on the spot in the accident.

Upon receiving the information, the Kumalda police station arrived at the scene and launched a rescue operation, pulling the body from the ditch. After completing the Panchnama process, the police sent the body to Doon Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The police are currently investigating the cause of the accident.
