Mallikarjun Kharge asks in a public meeting as to why Hon’ble president and former president not invited on the occassion of Ram Temple’s consecration ceremony

Date : 22 April 2024

Veteran Congress leader and national president Mallikarjun Kharge today levelled a serious charge on prime minister Narendra Modi and Bharatiya Janata Party while addressing a public meeting in Bengaluru Rural saying that President Droupadi Murmu and former President Ram Nath Kovind were not invited to the Pran Prathisthapana programme at Ayodhya and the inaugural function of Parliament due to their caste. Therefore, till every SC/ST and Backward Class Community person gets entry to the temple he will not enter the temple. He emphasised that till every citizen of India irrespective of his/her caste gets entry to the temple he will not enter into the temple.

Answering BJP’s criticism regarding Congress leaders absence in Ayodhya Congress chief Kharge said, “PM Modiji says though we invited Congressmen to Ayodhya they never turned up. They are showing disrespect to God. He posed a counter question to PM Modi in the rally asking : But why have you not invited our President? You have not invited the first citizen of the country even to the inaugural function of the Parliament.”

Adding further Congress president Mallikarjun said that the BJP calls Congress anti-nationals but they neither keep Babasaheb Dr Ambedkar’s photograph in their office nor did the BJP-RSS hoist the National flag on their party office, for years.

In a press release issued in New Delhi by AICC it is mentioned that in a scathing attack on PM Modi Mallikarjun Kharge said people demand something else and in turn, Modiji gives them something else. When people demand Roti Modiji says I have reduced the price of the cake, it is cheaper than Roti at the Bakery go and have it.

Referring to the criticism of Congress manifesto by PM Narendra Modi in a Rajasthan rally yesterday Mallikarjun Kharge said : PM Modi criticises the Congress manifesto but the guarantees announced in our manifesto don’t say that it is meant for Muslims, Hindus or any particular community. They are for all. They are for all the citizens of India. As the country’s Prime Minister, speaking ignorantly does not behove well for Modi ji said the press statement quoting Congress chief saying so while addressing the Bengaluru Rural rally.

For two things the public should vote for Congress one is to save our democracy and another is to save our constitution said Kharge adding further that Modiji is asking the public to give a 2/3rd majority because he wants to change the constitution and it requires a 2/3rd majority. Therefore, if you want to save our constitution then please vote for Congress urged Congress chief to the electorates present in his rally while addressing them.

Meanwhile Congress has lodged a strong objection to the controversial statement given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Rajasthan on Sunday. Congress has urged the Election Commission to take concrete action for clear violation of the code of conduct by making lewd statements against a community.

Talking to journalists after meeting the Election Commission on Monday, Congress spokesperson Dr. Abhishek Manu Singhvi said that the Congress delegation has filed 17 complaints with the Election Commission, of which five are main. He said that the Prime Minister of the country has violated the code of conduct in Rajasthan. The Election Commission should take strict action on this. This statement has raised questions on the credibility of the country’s Constitution, the post of Prime Minister and the Election Commission.
