Kamalnath not sure of joining BJP says his close confidant in Congress party
There seems to be a U turn for now, at least with regard to the rumours floating that former chief minister of Madhya Pradesh who had been with Congress his entire life till date, may join the saffron party after several of the Congress leaders have sat in the lap of BJP. According to latest reports this is not happening if the statement of Kamal Nath’s close confidant Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma’s version is to be believed. According to a credible news agency ANI from Delhi : After meeting the former Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath, Congress leader Sajjan Singh Verma says ,” I had a discussion with him ( Kamalnath). He said that right now his focus is on how the caste equations will be on the 29 Lok Sabha seats in Madhya Pradesh. He said that he has not thought about anything like that ( of leaving the party)…”
However, there has been no efforts from the side of top Congress leaders asking Kamal Nath to clear his stand whether he is really joining BJP or the news is farce. There were reports that Congress high command is not interested to request Kamalnath, who has already been left away from Rajya Sabha for the first time after the Congress lost in Madhya Pradesh under his leadership. According to sources his son Nakulnath , MP from Chundwaara and several Congress lawmakers of the state are pressurizing Kamalnath to join BJP in view of the development of Chindwara and also to teach the party high command a lesson for blaming him for the party’s debacle in the state and not giving Rajya Sabha seat.
According to reliable sources in view of tge forthcoming elections the BJP though very much interested to accept Kamalnath into their party fold are also bit reluctant keeping in view his name having a blot for his alleged involvement in anti sikh riots of 1984.
