Internet services suspended in Karnaprayag, Hemkunt Sahib Yatra continuing satisfactorily by Nagrasu Gurudwara under control of Nihangs

The situation in Uttarakhand and social media is becoming tense as after the Karnaprayag incident where there was the struggle between the Nihamgs and few people with one injured admitted in the hospital after the injury by a sword welding Sikh. The DUR has been registered against the wrong doers but the way some representatives of the Sikhs and the activists of organisation in Uttarakhand are accusing each other in alleged threatening tones the situation seems to be taking anxious turn with tension oriented environment prevailing in some parts of Uttarakhand.

According to the latest news in Nagrasu Gurudwara the Nihamgs have allegedly taken charge of the Gurudwara with news coming out that the Kabza of the Nihangs is continuing for the second day.

According to the latest development there is a news report about one Shradhalu being allegedly held captive. The net services in Karnaprayag has been shut down to avoid spreading of rumours. The District Magistrate and the SP are on the spot trying to ease the situation appealing the Nihangs to free the Gurudwara of their Kabza etc.

According to the latest news a tense situation persists after the Nihang Sikhs took over Gurdwara Damdama Sahib in Nagarasu, Rudraprayag district.

The dispute, which began around 3 pm on Saturday, continued for the second day on Sunday, and no resolution has been reached.

The police and administration are continuously trying to normalize the situation by talking to the Nihangs, but the Nihang Sikhs do not seem ready to listen to the administration.

Around 8 to 10 Nihang Sikhs are reported to be present at the Nagarasu Gurdwara, adjacent to the Badrinath Highway.

It is reported that some Nihangs even climbed onto the roof of the Gurudwara to protest. This has created an atmosphere of panic and tension in the area.

According to sources, there have been reports of a devotee being held hostage by the Nihangs, although the administration is investigating the matter. Following the incident, security has been tightened in the entire area. A heavy police force and ITBP personnel are deployed around the Gurudwara.

Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra and Superintendent of Police Neharika Tomar are personally monitoring the situation at the scene. Negotiations are ongoing between the gurdwara operators and the Nihangs in the presence of the administration.

Meanwhile, at the request of the Rudraprayag administration, internet services have been suspended in Karnaprayag as a precautionary measure. The administration maintains that peace and order is fully maintained in the district and the Hemkund Sahib Yatra is continuing smoothly.

Since the Nagarasu Gurdwara is located adjacent to the Badrinath Highway, the administration is taking extra precautions to prevent any untoward incident. Security agencies are keeping a close watch on all activities.

Rudraprayag police reported that approximately seven Nihangs are present inside the Gurdwara, and security forces are constantly monitoring the situation.

Rudraprayag District Magistrate Vishal Mishra and Superintendent of Police Neeharika Tomar are also present at the scene.

Chamoli District Magistrate Gaurav Kumar stated that internet service in Karnaprayag has been suspended at the request of the Rudraprayag administration. He added that peace and order is fully maintained in the district, and the Hemkund Sahib and Badrinath pilgrimages are continuing smoothly.

Superintendent of Police Surjeet Singh Panwar stated that the situation in the district is under control and the administration is fully prepared to deal with any untoward incident.
