Four tourists from Haryana were trapped in the strong currents of the Ganges in Rishikesh, rescued by the water police.

A major tragedy was averted at Swargashram Ghat in Rishikesh on Tuesday afternoon. Four young men from Hisar, Haryana, tried to cross the river while bathing in the Ganges, but upon reaching the middle of the river, they became trapped due to the strong current and fatigue. Finding themselves in danger, the young men shouted for help.
Upon receiving the information, the water police team arrived at the scene with a motor boat and, demonstrating prudence and promptness, safely rescued all four young men. During the rescue, those present at the ghat held their breath, but everyone breathed a sigh of relief when the young men emerged safely.
The administration has appealed to people to exercise caution while bathing in the Ganga and to refrain from attempting to cross the river.
