The incident of alleged hurling of unparliamentary languages and misbehaviour against the Priests of historic Jageshwar temple of Almora district of Uttarakhand, the other day, has resulted in Congress leaders and workers sitting on symbolic hunger strikes and protest sit in, exhibiting play cards and raising of anti BJP govt slogans demanding public apology and stringent legal action against the BJP, member of Parliament from Aonla Bareilly.
However, an FIR has been registered against the rudely behaving MP of BJP after the state government submitted to the pressure of the protesting leaders of Congress.
The former chief minister of Uttarakhand and national general secretary of Congress Harish Rawat along with his Congress activists sat on a symbolic hunger strike today holding a play card demanding legal action against the erring MP allegedly using abusive language against the historic Jageshwar temple priests.
The play card holding in his hand read : The devotees will not tolerate the insult to Lord Jaganath. The BJP should seek public apology for its MP’s indecent n unruly behaviour.
The former Uttarakhand assembly speaker Govind Kunjwal too alongwith his supporter sat on a protest Dharna demanding public apology and stringent action against the unruly MP.
The Uttarakhand Pradesh Congress chief too demanded strict action against the BJP MP who misbehaved with priests whom we considered as the messengers of Lord Jaganath said the state Congress chief Ganesh Godiyal.
It may be recalled that there was a brief scuffle took place on Saturday between the BJP MP from Aonwla, Barreilly namely Dharmendra Kashyap who forcibly tried to enter the temple after the scheduled hours.
When not allowed he allegedly became exasperated and started using unparliamentary language against the priests.
He allegedly hurled abuses and misbehaved with the priests. The incident occurred in full public view with its video going viral in social media inviting opposition parties especially Congress opposing the BJP MP’s unruly behaviour and demanding public apology including strict action against him.
The furious MP even created ruckus with the locals. The temple authorities brought the matter to the knowledge of the Almora district magistrate finally leading to lodging of FIR against the BJP MP.
