DESPITE HIGH COMMAND’S DIRECTIVES TO UNITE UTTARAKHAND CONGRESS LEADERS LEAVE NO STONE UNTURNED TO BLAME EACH OTHER IN THE OPEN

On the one hand, the Congress high command has advised, rather instructed the state leadership to give up the factionalism in the state organisation especially when the national elections are round the corner by establishing mass contact with the state’s electorates, giving the call for unity – on the other hand while the state Congress chief Karan Mahara is organising conventions at district and assembly levels and interacting with Congress lawmakers and workers in open party forums, the former leader of opposition and ex state president who is eight term MLA from Chakrata Pritam Singh has raised strong objections against the state Congress chief for making mockery among the electorates by openly divulging the internal differences among him and the sitting MLA in the open including about faction ridden Congress , which according to him should have been discussed secretively inside the party forum than in public convention in the open giving media an opportunity to ridicule the Congress party suffering from factionalism.

It may be recalled that Pritam Singh a bete noire of former chief minister Harish Rawat and even the present State Congress chief Karan Mahara was speaking to a media channel airing his views though he himself had not attended the party conventions held in the MLA segments of Almora parliamentary constituency.

Airing his differences over this Almora district convention Pritam Singh said that all the senior Congress leaders should have been duly invited. He said what is the use of such largely attended conventions when the annoyance of party MLA or leader is discussed openly and countered by its own state party chief in the open thus, sending a ridiculous and wrong messages among the electorates.

He was referring to the speech of the local MLA Mayuk Mahar in Pithoragarh assembly convention in which he ( MLA Mayuk) had openly without naming the previous MP Pradeep Tamata not only criticized him but also appealed the state chief and senior Congress leaders not to consider the name of the old horses in future but younger elements as the time and politics is changing to which the state Congress chief Karan Mahara strongly rebutted saying openly that since Pradeep Tamata is not an MP today, we should point our political guns and canons against the BJP MP than our own forner MP who has a long chequered sociology political career. Tamata, ex MP is considered to be Harish Rawat’s protege.

Uttarakhand Congress chief Mahara ridiculed the state Congress leaders and workers openly from the Mike saying that our leaders and Congressmen are always busy training/ pointing their guns and cannons against our own leaders rather than pointing them against the BJP and its MPs, MLAs. He questioned has anyone, especially those active in media, newspapers and social media, written a single word against the sitting BJP MP from Almora or criticized him rather then criticizing Congress leaders.

Karan Mahara had with folded hands appealed the Congress leaders to write, speak and shout against the BJP and its leaders than its own Congressman.

Meanwhile former chief minister Harish Rawat who too was conspicuous by his absence in the Almora assembly segment conventions including the district level convention lauded these events as largely attended ones and successful but didn’t forget to write that he badly felt about not calling one of the senior district level Congress leader Mr. Kharkwal in this convention. Now, the point is Mr. Rawat could have discussed this matter with the state Congress chief in camera rather than going public. These two versions and statements of senior Congress leaders Pritam Singh and Harish Rawat who absented themselves from the Almora Congress conventions in the media clearly states as to how badly the party is engrossed in factionalism with every senior leader not losing an opportunity to criticise their own leaders threadbare in the media openly, especially when the national elections are round the corner and the high command has already instructed every congressmen to unite in Uttarakhand.
