Around 7,000 People Gather at Jantar Mantar as Protest Continues, Organizers Cite Online Backlash as Sign of Impact

Hunger strikers demand resignation of the union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan in NEET paper leaks n subsequent suicides

New Delhi: Jantar Mantar saw a steady gathering of around 7,000 people from morning to evening on Wednesday, with leaders of several social and political movements addressing the crowd in support of the ongoing agitation. The turnout across the full day, organizers said, reflects that the movement remains active even as it enters a prolonged phase.

Describing the mood on the ground, one participant noted, “Still alive, though not kicking,” suggesting the protest has maintained visibility without yet reaching peak intensity. The presence of multiple groups on a single platform was credited for sustaining numbers beyond what a single organization could mobilize on a weekday.

The comment also pointed to the scale of online engagement as an indirect measure of relevance. “A clear indication of how effective this movement is can be judged from the number of trolls in the comments below. Over the years I’ve seen that this number is directly proportional to the impact. I’ll be so sad and dejected the day they go missing. Thank you, my success-o-meter, for your hard work,” the participant said.

Yesterday one of the hunger striker Danush Ali on her sixth day protest at Jantar Mantar experienced health related complications and was admitted to the hospital in an emergency ambulance.

At Jantar Mantar, where most demonstrations face a sharp drop in attendance after the initial days, organizers view sustained crowd presence and heightened digital pushback as signs that the issue is cutting through beyond the protest site.

The gathering continued into the evening without disruption, with speakers calling for continued mobilization in the coming days.

It may be recalled that the climate change activist , an IITian and a vociferous activist who has come out of jail recently after undergoing imprisonment in Udaipur Jail  for around six months released by the government in its own has also participated in the Cockroach Janata Party’s first protest demonstration at Jantar Mantar organised on the call of its leader Abhijeet Dipke demanding the resignation of the union education minister Mr. Pradhan. Since the giver mentioned hasn’t agreed to this demand of the thousands of youths and CJP activists Sonam Wangchuk and fifteen students n youths sat in indefinite hunger strike at Jantar Mantar to demand the union ministers resignation. Sitting on indefinite hunger strike during  the ongoing peak summer when the national capital’s temperature ranges  from 40 to 48 degrees and when dehydration level phenomenally goes up , this is indeed an uphill task.
