Editor in Uttarakhand Assembly Pankaj Singh Mahar succumbs to Covid at the age of 44

Editor in Uttarakhand State Assembly having joined Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha as a reporter 18 years ago, popular in the social circles of the hilly state and in state secretariat for his impressive writings on social cultural n even burning issues pertaining to forests, land and water of Uttarakhand forty four year Pankaj Singh Mahar is no more.

He breathed his last at Dehradun today morning after suffering from Covid 19 under treatment for the last more than a month. His sad untimely demise has send shock waves in the socio political circles of Uttarakhand including Uttarakhand assembly secretariat and in intellectual circles.

A well read person full of energy and enthusiasm, always active in social media articulating on social issues pertaining to the overall interests of the state despite being the govt servant in Uttarakhand assembly secretariat as an editor, the untimely passing away of Pankaj Singh Mahar has indeed created a void in Uttarakhand’s social circles especially in the assembly secretariat where his admirers, friends n well wishers will miss him to the core due to his intellectual writings, affable n soft nature and generosity.

He was well versed and treasure house of legislative rules and regulations compounded with his serious concern for the socio cultural, economic development of the state including concern for burning issues of peoples’,’ concern. He will surely be missed n remembered. RIP
