While after several days of heat waves, rains in several areas of Uttarakhand has provided tremendous relief to the people suffering from more heat compared to the previous summees in the month of April but despite all this the rain with excessive pressure has created havoc in several parts as well.

In Champawat district’s Narakor tehsil especially in Bisraadi village the excessive rains have created lot of damage with several cars buried under the rubble and silt including the pathways and roads covered by landslide silt, stones and mud.

The damage and destruction was so excessive that the villagers termed this as the cloud burst disturbance though the government of Uttarakhand ‘s concerned department hasn’t affirmed or confirmed it as cloud burst tragedy, but the destruction was no less than the destruction post cloud burst tragedies.

The flooded stream caused extensive damage in the village after the rain. Several vehicles parked on the roadside were swept away by the debris and were instantly buried. According to locals, the flow of water and debris was so strong that people didn’t even have a chance to recover.

The vehicles of Diwan Nath, Nirmal Nath, and Khatima resident Teju Goswami were completely damaged in this incident. Furthermore, the walls of several houses were damaged, creating an atmosphere of fear among the villagers.

The rains have also dealt a significant blow to farmers. Mango and litchi orchards have been devastated, while standing crops in the fields have been destroyed. Structures like polyhouses have also been damaged in the disaster.

The road connecting Bisradi village has been completely blocked due to debris and strong currents, cutting off the village from surrounding areas. This could also hamper relief and rescue operations.

The villagers have demanded that the administration quickly assess the damage and provide compensation, and take concrete steps to prevent such incidents in the future. The administration has been informed, and efforts are underway to restore normalcy.

Village head Nirmal Nath and former senior chief Nanda Ballabh Bagauli said that just two hours of rain shook the entire area. However, it is a matter of relief that there were no casualties in the incident.
