Priyanka slams the BJP and demands reintroduction of the 2023 already passed women reservation bill

The Wayanad MP and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi strongly slammed the BJP leadership for twisting the Women Reservation Bill attaching it with the Delimitation on the basis of the 2011 census and now after the falling of the bill in parliament calling it the black day.

She said that it’s indeed a black day for BJP because the bill fell flat against them which it has never ever thought in dreams.

Priyanka Gandhi said that it’s a huge rebuff to the saffron party emphasising on the reintroduction of the 2023 Women Reservation Bill in parliament and getting it passed unanimously, with minor amendments if necessary.

The Wayanad MP and general secretary of Congress Priyanka Gandhi was addressing a press conference after the falling of the bill on women reservation with 131 st constitutional amendment on Delimitation.

Addressing a press conference Priyanka Gandhi reiterated that the Modi government should implement the Women’s Reservation Bill, which was unanimously passed in 2023, now and empower women.

The opposition is ready for the Women’s Reservation Bill 2023 which has already been passed unanimously she said.

Looking extremely confident and concerned about the wimen reservation bill she lambasted the ruling party saying that the BJP is terming it the black day but actually it’s a black day for them who have felt the terrible shock for the first time after the bill fell down.

They actually deserved this treatment said Priyanka Gandhi adding further that the problems of women are growing exponentially these days. The struggle is relentless. Women’s aren’t fools. They understand everything. The BJP’s public relations exercise and media hype will not work any more.

If you ( BJP) really want to do something concrete or credible for woman reintroduce the 2023 already passed Women Reservation Bill. We are ready to support it unanimously saud Priyanka Gandhi .

She even said that if you want to make some minor amendments you can make them. Do it immediately and give the women reservation now . Don’t mislead or fool them by giving twist to it and attaching it to other issues. Implement it now, The opposition is fully agreed in this asserted and assured Priyanka Gandhi.

It may be recalled that despite the best efforts of the BJP , after even trying to approach few opposition parties like SP etc has failed and the bill fell down in parliament as for amendment two third majority is required.

The BJP women MPs after the motion being defeated protested in parliament precincts terming it a black day and accusing the Congress and INDIA constituents anti women.

The Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi termed this bill as an exercise to conspiratorially alter the India’s electoral structure while several Congress leaders term the action as defence of democratic ethics this defeating the ill concieved designs of the ruling party.

After the defeat of the bill yesterday Priyanka Gandhi had tweeted : Women’s reservation in Parliament and state legislatures is a right of the women of this country, and no one can prevent them from achieving it. One day, it will become a reality.

But Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s hollow attempt to portray himself as a savior for women by maliciously linking it to the 2011 census and the delimitation process based on it failed today.
Today, the opposition has demonstrated its determination and unity, upholding India’s democracy and its integrity. This day will be considered historic in Indian politics. From today, the suppression of this nation’s voice will cease.

I sincerely thank all opposition MPs, because deep down we all know that if these three bills were passed, democracy would cease to exist in our country. By using our power wisely, we have placed this nation above politics and fulfilled our duty in the nation’s best interests.
