Devendra Yadav, Harish Rawat and Kishore Upadhyay with activists court arrests against the farmers lynching and Priyanka Gandhi’s arrest at Dehradun, Rudrapur and Tehri Garhwal

After yesterday’s brutal deaths of eight farmers in Lakhimpur Khiri, Uttar Pradesh by one of the vehicles in the convoy of Union Minister of state for home ramming into the farmers group protesting with black flags, there have been several protests in various parts of the country including at all the divisional and DM offices of Uttar Pradesh on the call given by the Kisaan Samyukta Samittee.

While in Sitapur Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi has been arrested while going to meet the members of the bereaved families to wipe their tears by a heavy police posse, Samajwadi Party chief and former Uttar Pradesh CM Akhilesh Yadav has also been taken under preventive custody.

The BKU leader and son of renowned farmers leader Tikaith continuing the farmers agitation at Ghazipur for the last several months has along with his followers left for Lakhimpur Khiri accusing the state government of allegedly patronising the killers of eight farmers, yesterday at Lakhimpur Khiri rammed by a minister’s convoy vehicle including lynching by heavy lathi blows.

Meanwhile there are reports that in Dehradun former Uttarakhand chief minister Harish Rawat and Congress activists and local leaders in large numbers have been arrested while protesting against the Lakhimpur Khiri brutal killings of the farmers and arrest of Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi by burning an effigy n raising anti government slogans demanding stringent punishment to the culprits and dismissal of the state minister of home Ajay Mishra Teni including arrest of his son.

In Tehri Garhwal also several Congress activists led by the former Uttarakhand minister and state party chief Kishore Upadhyay after sitting on Dharna raising anti BJP and pro Farmers n Priyanka Gandhi slogans courted arrests at Dobra Chanti Pul site in Pratap Nagar Tehri Garhwal.

Meanwhile through a tweet the Uttarakhand Congress observer Devendra Yadav too courted arrest in Rudrapur, Kumaon, Uttarakhand. Yadav tweeted : I appeal to all the INC workers to protest against the Lakhimpur Khiri incident of massacre of farmers by wearing black strip and keeping silent fast and court arrest peacefully outside police headquarter. I too will court arrest at Rudrapur tweeted Devendra Yadav.

Kindly recall that in several parts of Uttarakhand the effigy of BJP leaders n state home minister Ajay Mishra have been burnt against the killings of eight farmers in Lakhimpur Khiri and against Priyanka Gandhi’s, arrest.
