Uttarakhand has now become the land of predators/ maneaters and the human movement on roads especially, in interior villages especially for women, senior citizens and children has become extremely difficult , even on agricultural fields and near jungles where usually men farmers and women go for daily work or arranging fodder for go cattles and domestic animals.
Unaccounted number of cases have come to light on roads, agricultural farmlands or even residential compounds where the maneaters have pounced upon human beings and made them their easy prey dragging their body in the nearby forests.
On a average in a week in Uttarakhand at least on a minimum, three cases of fatal tragedies at the behest of the maneater leopards and tigers take place.
But the moot point is what is Uttarakhand’s Forest and wild life departments doing despite such a rise in human casualties via maneater attacks at least to minimise these heartwrenching tragedies.
The latest such tragedy took place in Kumaon division of Uttarakhand where a hardworking famer became the maneater tiger’s prey who not only attacked him but literally mutilated his dead body.
According to a news : A tiger has ruthlessly left Khim Singh, a courageous, honest, hardworking farmer of Tadam village of our Talla Salt, Almora. Tell me how to live in this mountain asked the villagers . What was his fault, who wanted to live in his village while battling with all the problems? Forest department, government-administration, who is responsible??????? Asked the gram pradhan in anger.
