While Captain Amrinder Singh meets Amit Shah n NSA Doval, G 23 group leaders write to Sonia Gandhi to convene CWC n Kapil holds PC

While Punjab crisis has brought Punjab Congress on the brink of disaster after Navjyot Singh Sidhu’s resignation, being appointed the party president just nearly two month’s before, the meetings of disenchanted and exasperated former Punjab CM with union home minister Amit Shah and NSA Doval with speculations of his future meetings with PM Modi and BJP chief Nadda has further made situation more complicated for Congress high command.

As this was not enough, the G 23 group of rebel Congress leaders led by veteran leader and senior advocate Kapil Sibal and Ghulam Nabi Azad has created more problems for the Nehru Gandhi family giving a clear cut impression of a head on collision course between pro Sonia, Rahul Gandhi group and anti Gandhi family group within the Congress party which is already faction ridden in Rajasthan, Punjab n Uttrakhand and several important leaders like Jyotiraditya Scindia, Justin Prasad and Sushmita Sen having joined BJP and former president Pranab Mukherjee’s daughter Shasmishta retiring from active politics n Congress party.

According to latest news just today while senior Congress leader Kapil Sibal held a press conference again questioning the party leadership asking that he does not know who is the Congress president n blaming the leadership for the ongoing mess in Punjab etc, the senior Congress Ghulam Nabi Azad has written a letter to Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi demanding convening of an urgent CWC meeting with a third leader Anand Sharma strongly condemning the protest n throwing of tamatoes in front of the house of Kapil Sibal this morning including damaging a car, raising traitors leave Congress slogans obviously referring to G – 23 leaders.

In a tweet angered Anand Sharma wrote : Congress has a history of upholding freedom of expression, differences of opinion and perception are integral to a democracy. In tolerance and violence is alien to Congress values and culture tweeted Anand Sharma followed by another tweet urging strong action against the Youth Congress activists writing those responsible must be identified and desciplined.

The Youth Congress president Sriniwas BV close to Rahul Gandhi has come out as a true saviour of the Nehru Gandhi family accusing veteran Congress leader Kapil Sibal through tweet saying : listen Jee Huzoor ( pointing towards Kapil Sibal n others) The party president and leadership is the same who always made you MPs. During nice days the party made you ministers, when in opposition you were made Rajya Sabha MPs, always gave you important positions during the thick n thin and when the time of struggle came you….. There seems to be a clear cut head on collision course in Congress party between the Young Turks and the old ones especially the G 23 rebel group with Rahul Gandhi representing the leader of Young Turks.

According to the latest news, taking advantage of the deteriorating Punjab situation, the G 23 group within Congress comprising of senior leaders convened a meeting on Wednesday at the residence of Ghulam Nabi Azad and devised a strategy to write a letter to party president Sonia Gandhi to convene an urgent meeting to discuss the ongoing Punjab crisis and other issues and Kapil Sibal to hold a press conference on Thursday.

Addressing the PC today veteran leader Kapil Sibal said the situation in Congress is such that we do not know who is the party chief.

The Youth Congress activists raising slogans like ” Gaddaron Party chodo”, traitors leave the Congress party threw tamatoes outside the house of Kapil Sibal.

The former Youth Congress president and fmr union minister Anand Sharma criticized this attempt to bully Kapil symbol pronouncing them as hooligans urging Sonia Gandhi to initiate strong action against those responsible.

Meanwhile, another senior leader of Congress n a leading advocate as well, Manish Tiwari strongly criticised the IYC activists protesting against the senior Congress leader at gis house, damaging a car and throwing tamatoes calling him a traitor.

He had also opposed the entry of Kanahiya Kumar, for communist party leader in Congress party. He tweeted : Those who are trying to defend the ” command performance” last night. This is what happened at Kapil Sibal’s house ” They damaged the car. Stood on the top, so it caved in. Threw tamatoes both outside and inside the house.
