NHAI Dinanath Bypass near Badrinath : Big dynamite explosions breaking mountains and dumping thousands of tonnes of muck , debris in Alaknanda creating artificial lakes

The all weather roads project has literally created havoc in Garhwal Uttarakhand. All the constitutional and legal norms are being openly flouted with dynamite explosions taking place on massive scale and lakhs of tons of the silt, dust, muck and rocky stones being drowned in the Alaknanda river thus creating bottlenecks in its smooth flow and river level coming down considerably with artificial lakes being created.

The already fragile environment and ecology of Uttarakhand hills especially on the routes of All Weather roads is further deteriorating with Joshimath already sinking and houses at several locations near Badrinath etc developing hundreds of cracks.

Just today in Badrinath the NHAI has exploded a mountain with immense sound pollution including several hundred tonnes of boulders and muck, silt, dust falling in Alaknanda river with the river water level being adversely affected.

The life of the fish and other living beings inside the Alaknanda river is is absolute danger.

According to the established environmental norms the dynamite explosions in the Himalayas have been completely banned by the Supreme Court but the NHAI authorities are openly flouting these norms as the contractors working under them are openly flouting the rules and exploding the dynamite playing with the lives of the people and the already fragile environment of the hills dumping the boulders muck, silt dust and mud etc inside the Alaknanda river making the pious river difficult to flow and raising its bases.

This has been happening for years together with no regulations on these illegal activities.

During the construction of the Dinanath bypass by NHAI near Badrinath bebris from the hills are being dumped in the Alaknanda river due to which river lakes are being formed. The people are questioning : Rivers are becoming lakes…

Isn’t cutting down mountains a destruction? asked the local populace whose peaceful environment is being degraded by unwanted massive dynamite explosions.
