A woman’s mutilated body found in Dhari block forests after being killed by a maneater

The wild animal and human conflicts is not coming down in Uttarakhand, especially in Garhwal. The maneater leopard and wild bears have created havoc and are consistently targetting women in Uttarakhand as they are vulnerable going to fields and jungles everyday to arrange fodder ( grass) for the domestic pets and cattles. During the month of November and December roughly there have been more than twenty six attacks and one women had died though rest of them injured grievously on the face, eyes, chest, shoulder etc. There is literally an atmosphere of terror in the interior Uttarakhand including at road sides as Wild bears and maneater leopards are prowling for human flesh in view of the shortage of preys inside jungles. Today, yet another deadly tragedy happened in Kumaon division. A woman who had gone nearby her house has fallen prey to Maneater leopard. She had gone to collect fodder for the cattles in the morning. As soon as she reached the forest near her house a maneater clandestinely pounced on her making her its prey to full his belly. The maneater was hungry. According to the latest news this morning, a tiger killed Hema Devi, wife of Gopal Bargali, near her house in Dini Talli of Dhari block. Being alone she was helpless and panicked with the tiger / leopard completely dragging her away with his dreaded jaws. Her multilated body was found away in the forest area. The police and wildlife including the locals reach the spot and found the highly multilated dead body. There is tremendous fear and panic all around with the wild life and forest department likely to fix the iron cages to trap the maneater but the infuriated villagers demand killing the maneater at the earliest.
