The celebrated writer of Lajja and several other novels in Bengali dialect, having been ousted from Bangladesh, living in India since the last two decades from 2004, after seeking asylum – Taslima Nasreen has, despite being harrassed and ousted by the earlier prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina not allowing her to return back to Bangladesh, come out openly in support of the latter and standing in solidarity strongly condemning and opposing the death sentence given to her by the INTERNATIONAL CRIME TRIBUNAL OF BANGLADESH on the accusations of killing humanity and ordering the massacre of countless youths, students and activists of Bangladesh holding her directly responsible for ordering firing of them.
While holding Sheikh Hasina directly responsible for completely destroying Bangladesh Taslima Nasreen said that one should oppose the injustice and support the victim even if he or she is your immediate enemy.
Speaking in favour of her one time enemy Sheikh Hasina and coming down heavily on the present president/ chief administrator – Noble laureate Mohammed Yunus, Taslima Nasreen said that there can’t be double standards while delivering justice and bringing the culprits to justice.
Writing on X to substantiate her contention celebrated writer Taslima Nasreen said : The actions for which Hasina has been declared unjust by Yunus and his jihadi forces — when Yunus and those same jihadi forces commit the very same actions, they declare them to be just.
When someone commits acts of sabotage and the current government orders them to be shot, the government does not call itself a criminal.
So why is Hasina being considered a criminal for giving the order last July to shoot those who committed acts of sabotage?
Why will the terrorists who committed sabotage in July — who set fire to the metro, killed people with snipers, slaughtered police officers — not be brought to justice?
When will the farce in the name of justice end in Bangladesh? asked the liberal n progressive writer Taslima Nasreen living in India since the last two decades.
Accusing the former longest serving tenth prime minister of Bangladesh Sheikh Hasina too on several counts and still coming forth in her support against granting her the capital punishment by Mohammed Yunus led government of Bangladesh – Taslima Nasreen further wrote on X in a lengthy post : Even though Sheikh Hasina has built countless mosques and madrasas — in other words, jihadi factories — and ruined the country,
even though she destroyed the education system by making madrasa degrees equivalent to university degrees,
even though she allowed misogynistic jihadists to brainwash the youth through religious sermons,
even though she showed extreme cruelty by refusing to provide any security to free-thinkers despite knowing jihadi militants were brutally killing them,
even though three months after I returned from exile in January 1999 to be with my dying mother, she arranged for a case to be filed against me for “hurting religious sentiments” and drove me out of the country,
and even though she has never again allowed me to enter the country—never renewed my Bangladeshi passport and never granted me a Bangladeshi visa on my foreign passport,
even though she banned Amar Meyebela, my award-winning autobiography which won the Ananda Puraskar,
even though, on her orders, embassy officials refused to attest my power-of-attorney documents, causing me severe financial hardship,
I still stood by Sheikh Hasina in her darkest days. I strongly protested the farcical trial and death sentence passed on her in the name of justice.
What lesson should you take from this?
Protest against all forms of injustice — even if the injustice is done to your enemy, protest against that injustice too said the celebrated writer Taslima Nasreen while standing in solidarity with the former Bangladesh prime minister Sheikh Hasina.
