Finally protests of thousands of youths compel CM Uttarakhand to accept their demand for a CBI probe in paper leak scam

The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami finally bowed down towards the agitating youths and students and personally visited the protest site at Dehradun and announced his decision accepting their long pending demand recommending for CBI probe in the UKSSSC paper leak scam giving a huge sigh of relief to the protesting youths who have been up in the arms for the last several days. The chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami alongwith his entire entourage visited the protest site and fulfilled the demand to the fullest satisfaction of the protesting youths. Chief Minister Dhami personally reached the protest site today and not only accepted the demand for a CBI inquiry into the youth recruitment paper leak case but also immediately recommended it, which is the biggest victory for the unity of the youth. This step of the Chief Minister not only shows political maturity but also gives the message that it is the responsibility of true leadership to go among the people and listen to them. However, the role of former Chief Minister Trivendra Rawat’s statement regarding CBI investigation in putting pressure on the government cannot be ignored. The role of youth was equally important in this entire process. Holding a peaceful protest in a Gandhian manner, with restraint and discipline, for seven days in a row is no small feat. Today, when protests turn violent at the slightest provocation, the ruling party has made every effort to provoke them through statements by the Chief Minister himself, the BJP State President, ministers and MLAs, but these youth proved that with peace and patience, power can also be subdued. Their solidarity melted the arrogance of power and gave respect to the voice of the unemployed. The Chief Minister’s adoption of the path of dialogue and the restrained struggle by the youth are both signs of the strength of democracy.
