GARHWAL HITESHINI SABHA TO COLLECT FUNDS TO HELP ECOLOGICAL CATASTROPHIC VICTIMS OF GARHWAL
Feeling extremely concerned over the tragic incidents in Dharali, Harshil, Sainji, Burans and other villages of Garhwal, Uttarakhand after massive ravishing flash floods resulting in high magnitude losses of human lives and properties, the biggest social organisation of Garhwalies in Delhi Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha took a healthy initiative to help them in their own way to be an important part of this philanthropic exercise.
On 10 August, 2025 Garhwal Hitaishini Sabha President Surat Singh Rawat had called a meeting of the Sabha’s advisory board, grievance redressal committee, Sabha financial resources and building management committee members including few journalists regarding the disaster that occurred in Dharali of Uttarkashi as well as various areas of Garhwal and other issues of the Sabha in which decisions were taken after discussing many topics with the executive members.
Regarding the disaster issue, it was also decided unanimously that Garhwal Hitaishini Sabha should come forward and establish a disaster relief fund with a bank account
in which the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha members and the general public should be appealed to donate.
After receiving the donation amount it should be sent to the suffering people through DM/CM/PM or someone else depending on the cumulative decision of the GHS body with consent of all said it’s general secretary Pawan Maithani
According to the general secretary of GHS Mr.Maithani the Garhwal Hiteshini Sabha has the facility of 80 G and therefore the donors will get the benefit of this contribution as well.
The GHS would be taking the final decision forthwith to move ahead with the proposal to collect funds for the welfare and wellbeing of the victims of various ecological catastrophe of Uttarakhand especially if Dharali, Harshil and few villages of Pabo which has claimed several human lives and colossal loss to properties.
