Outstanding theatre actor, director, script writer, producer and a multifaceted personality Lakshmi Rawat honoured by fmr governor B.S. Koshiyari

A felicitation programme was organized by Business Uttarayini at Uttarakhand Sadan conference hall on the occasion of the felicitation of Lakshmi Rawat, an eminent theatre activist, artist, actor, script writer and director for successfully scaling high altitudes of success during her protracted journey of several years.

The former governor of Maharashtra and ex-Uttarakhand CM Bhagat Singh Koshiyari graced the occasion by honouring Lakshmi Rawat and addressing the audience with his invaluable views. He lauded Lakshmi Rawat’s outstanding contribution as a theatre artist and director and wished her best of luck for her future endeavours assuring that he will do his best to see that the theatre artists and movers and shakers of our traditional cultural activities , heritage and ancient traditions are encouraged and supported by all means in future.

Eminent theatre, film and art critic and renowned author with several books to his credit Diwan Singh Bajeli appreciated the sincere and dedicated commitment of Lakshmi Rawat through her theatre and film acting and direction and termed her as a versatile actor assuring that he will soon be writing a book on her achievements as an actor who carved a niche for herself by the dint of her hard work, extreme efforts and commitment, determination and perseverance putting her soul in acting. Eminent literateur Dr. Harisuman Bisht said that he saw in Lakshmi Rawat a spark and commitment with precision towards theatre acting and direction and after watching several of her plays did the forecast quote before that she will definitely one day be an outstanding theatre personality and today we all honouring her for her destroys hard work and commitment as an outstanding and exemplary theatre artist.

The chairman of the Uttarakhand CM advisors council, and veteran journalist Govind Singh summed up the entire event in his valedictory address, heartily congratulating Lakshmi Rawat for her invaluable achievements right from acting to direction, to scripting to making documentaries and giving voiceover etc.

The four hour event was addressed by several dignitaries and presided by the chief of the Uttarakhand, Sanskriti, Sahitya aur Kala Parishad, a state ministerial rank Mrs. Uma Bhatt.

Those who gave their pivotal views on this occasion were eminent litterateur , author of several literary books and former secretary of Hindi and Bhojpuri academy Delhi government, Dr. Harisuman Bisht, Dr. Deewan Singh Bajeli, an intellectual to the core, author and film and art critic, Dr.Satish Kaleshwari, author, actor and director , Uttarakhandi films , Sushila Rawat , the first woman director of Uttarakhandi films, writer and director, Hem Pant, renowned anchor, writer and actor, Sunil Negi, sr. Journalist, Editor Uknationews, Ramesh Ghildiyal, writer, litterateur, Dr. Kusum Bhatt, Director Rajya Sabha Meena Kandwal, Chandra Mohan Papnei, sr. Journalist , president Parvatiya Kala Kendra, Padmendra Rawat, ACP and renowned actor , Geeta Gusain Negi, leading actress, Uttarakhandi films, Madan Mohan Sati, Press Advisor to CM, Uttarakhand Kusum Chouhan author and actress, Rakesh Gaur, Director Actor, and several others. Lakshmi Rawat with literary tears in her eyes said after being honoured by such a towering stalwart and all the dignitaries present here I now feel more committed and determined to do more and come true to your expectations to prove my worth even more than what it was till now. Now, my responsibility towards theatre and acting as an actor , teacher , director and producer has rather enhanced making my shoulders more responsible for my future duties towards commitment for theatre. Thank you all said Lakshmi in all indebtness in her emotional speech.

The event was a grand success ably anchored by Neeraj Bawari, Uttarayani. There was a unanimous decision of appeal to Uttarakhand government and the chief minister in particular to financially support the Uttarakhandi theatre, its artists and the entire fraternity in order to ensure the survival of Uttarakhand’s , culture and ancient traditions.
