A retired Uttarakhand police IG becomes Gram Pradhan unanimously WOW

There have been several examples of retired senior judges, officers of repute, army generals, majors, colonels and police officers joining politics after retirement and getting luxurious political positions like governors, Lt. Governors , MPs , ministers and even chief minister. One of the commandoes with Gandhi family sought premature retirement and was given party ticket and he won becoming MP. there are hundreds of such instances of appointments of the retired senior bureaucrats and police army personnel joining politics and gaining high positions. If we take the instance if Uttarakhand state Major General retired Khanduriji was brought into politics by the RSS high command provably the hen chief Rajju Bhaiyya etc , he being the maternal uncle of the former MP and Uttarakhand CM Vijay Bahuguna to bring someone from the family of his Mama Hemvati Nandan Bahuguna. Khanduri became MP from Pauri Garhwal and then minister of Road transport and Highways to then become the Uttarakhand CM. Now his daughter Ritu Khanduri is the speaker of Uttarakhand Assembly getting the advantage for being the daughter of the former Uttarakhand CM. The former Lt General TPS Rawat , the then Tourism minister in Congress government in Uttarakhand was also the retired Lt. General and an upright Army officer. There are umpteen such examples but you will not find a former top Police officer after superannuation accepting the post of a merely Village head of his native place just to serve the Gram Sabha inhabitants and provide them with basic amenities at the decentralised level. This unique and upright officer is retired IG Mrs. Vimla Gunjyal. In today’s times, when after retirement the over ambitious bureaucrats rush to high command for top position in political parties and are obliged as well, Mrs. Bimla Gunjyal, former Uttarakhand IG with a track record impeccable integrity has set a unique example in social arena. After retiring from a high post (IG) in Uttarakhand Police, today she accepted the post of Gram Pradhan unopposed in her village Gunji, development block Dharchula, district Pithoragarh. Her notice being to serve her village at the decentralised level than to go for higher political positions by approaching political parties at the top for lucrative positions. In one other case a retired colonel in Garhwal has been chosen unanimously by the village inhabitants honouring his dedication and affection for his village after he returned back to his native place after superannuation I’d his long service in Indian Army. Salutes. It may be recalled that the former IG Vimla Gunjyal had retired as IG Uttarakhand police in the year 2025 and instead of approaching political parties she preferred to serve the masses at the grass roots by accepting the offer as the unanimously victorious Pradhan of her village Gunji in Uttarakhand at Indo Nepal border Dharchula. A proud moment for the community, state and the entire nation.
