Bail plea of former MLA Kunwar Pranab Champion rejected, Judicial custody extended till 18 th March. Will miss Holi at his bungalow

The former four term MLA holding the state minister’s rank during the Congress regime in Uttarakhand now in Bhartiya Janata Party who is currently in a jail in Uttarakhand since January 29 after being arrested for going to the house of his rival and MLA from Khanpur Umesh Kumar along with his several associates in a fit of anger and firing several shots in public threatening him with dire consequences will not be celebrating Holi at his bungalow but in jail as his judicial custody has further been extended till March 18 instead of granting him bail. Kunwar Pranab Champion a dashing former MLA with good height and physique of a wrestler is in confrontation with the Khanpur independent MLA Umesh Kumar who has won as an independent since long. He defeated the wife of Kunwar champion who didn’t contested in 2022 but got the ticket for his wife Rani Sahiba. After Kunwar Pranav Champion firing several rounds at Umesh Kumar MLA’s house in broad day light with the video going viral in January the Khanpur MLA Umesh Kumar too tried to go to his house with a pistol to retaliate but was controlled by his colleagues and the police. The former MLA Kunwar Pranav Champion was arrested on 29 January and is in Haridwar jail since then. In between he was admitted to Haridwar district hospital after complaining of hill health from February 22. The Uttarakhand police had registered the case of attempt to murder but was later on changed to attempt to murder without deliberate intention. His bail plea was cancelled yesterday with judicial custody extended till March 18 unambiguously showing that the Mahabali BJP politician will not be able to celebrate Holi at his bungalow with his family this time.
