Uttarakhand CM Dhami thanks PM Modi for sanctioning Rs. 1480 Crores for disaster management known as Uttarakhand Disaster Preparedness

Uttarakhand is a disaster prone state falling under zone 5 where the seismologists, earth scientists etc have already given a warning that the state can face a massive earthquake from their day to next fifty years and even Delhi will suffer from its serious consequences as these tectonic upheavals will be of the scale of 8 on the Richter scale. In the past Uttarakhand has faced several earthquake and ecological disasters including the Uttarkashi earthquake and massive flash floods of 2013 that resulted in colossal damage to human lives and properties killing more than ten thousand people and ecological nomic loss of more than fifty thousand crores and even more. Not only the s no t forest fired on massive scale in Uttarakhand jungles during summer season is another critical mishappening that needs to be countered. Every year , especially during the monsoons Uttarakhand confronts massive demonstration sisters in the form of landslides, washing away of villages, houses , vehicles, fatal accidents and above all cloud burst incidents leading to flash floods resulting in Havoc all around. In order to deal with these ecological consequences the central government has sanctioned a special financial aid of Rs. 1480 Crores to Uttarakhand state for disaster management exercises to provide relief to the suffering people and revive and resurrect the damaged properties. The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami who is leading the Hill state already running under fiscal deficit of approximately Rs 70000 Crore ls even more than the state budget has thanked prime minister Narendra Modi for this s financial help. While thanking the orme minister Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami has said through a brief post on X : In order to strengthen disaster management in Uttarakhand and reduce response time, the Central Government has approved the World Bank assisted project “Uttarakhand Disaster Preparedness and Resilient Project (U-Prepare)” worth ₹ . 1480 crore. Under this project, construction of 45 bridges, 8 road safety measures, 10 disaster shelters, construction/strengthening of 19 fire stations, construction of training centers for State Disaster Response Force along with works related to forest fire control under the Forest Department will be done. On behalf of all the residents of the state, heartfelt thanks to the successful Prime Minister, respected Mr.@narendramodi ji for this public welfare project approved by the Central Government!
