HUNDREDS OF PROTESTING FARMERS BREAK POLICE BARRICADES TO MARCH TOWARDS DELHI DEMANDING MINIMUM SUPPORT PRICE
Hundreds of protesting farmers from Punjab have today broken the police barricades in Noida to march towards Delhi demanding immediate discussions on minimum support price, the long pending demand which has not been fulfilled till date despite several farmers union protesting during the previous regime of the same party led NDA GOVERNMENT under the leadership of prime minister Narendra Modi.
Acording to the latest news there was tremendous traffic jam leading to immense inconvenience to the people with hundreds of vehicles jammed leading to complete traffic halt. The senior police officers intervened and there was negotiations between the farmer leaders and the senior police officers.
After great efforts of the police officers and assuring them that the demands of the farmers will be sent to the central government the farmers leaders agreed to allow the traffic movement with the police removing the heavy barricades ensuring smooth flow of traffic.
According to the the joint Commissioner of police ( law and order) Shiv Hari Meena who was at the site holding negotiations making the protesting farmer leader agree to withdraw their protest told that the farmers had announced the Delhi march and the police were continuously keeping them involved in the negotiations.
The farmers leaders have conveyed their entire demands to the senior officials involved in the negotiations and after receiving the assurances they agreed to withdraw their protest thus giving a great sigh of relief to police officers who immediately opened the traffic by removing the heavy barricades. The traffic has now returned to normalcy with the police heaving a great sign of relief.
According to the Sagar Ali Kalsi the eastern range commissioner police had made good arrangements to maintain law and order including using adequate drone surveillance.
The angered farmers had broken the barricades and had head on collision with the police with several farmers running towards Delhi but finally after negotiations the situation returned to normalcy.
However, the police had a hard time to control hundreds of farmers demanding minimum support price and time from the government to hold concrete and credible negotiations on this long pending issue.
