During Separate Uttarakhand state movement days in 1994 it was during the rule of Samajwadi Party government led by chief minister Mulayam Singh Yadav there had been number of tragedies in Uttarakhand when at Mujaffarnagar not only were our innocent women and sisters were allegedly physically assaulted by the then hoodlums n police of UP but we’re brutally killed. These peaceful movement activists men and women were coming to Delhi from various parts of Uttarakhand to participate in the massive Red Fort Rally to demand separate Uttarakhand a Clarion call given by the then Gandhi of Uttarakhand Indramani Badooni, undisputed leader of Uttarakhand Kranti Dal. There were firings on Uttarakhand activists at Khatima, Mussourie, Dehradun and Pauri Garhwal as well killing about 50 andolankaries. There were good number of petitions in Supreme Court and Allahabad High Court’s against the then CM Mulayam Singh Yadav demanding his resignation and stringent action against the then responsible police officers Bua Singh and others, who’ve now retired going unpunished despite several killings and raped of women at Mujaffarnagar on October 2 1994.
