Posters pasted on various locations of 9 wanted alleged culprits in Banbhulpura violence in Haldwani
The Uttarakhand police has released the posters of the alleged culprits of Banbhoolpura, Haldwani responsible for the riots and violence on 8 th February when the municipal staff and the police have gone to demolish a religious structure and Yatimkhana arbitrarily built on government land and are absconding.
The case was slated to be heard in Nainital High court on 14 th of February in connection with this case.
The Haldwani police has pasted the posters on various locations urging common public to report the police in case they spot them and fund any clue about their whereabouts.
The posters with photographs of these wanted culprits numbering 9 include the mastermind behind this violence Abdul Malik and his son.
About fifteen teams of Haldwani police have formed to arrest these culprits after registering cases against them.
All the alleged culprits are absconding as of now since the day of this mis happening on 8 th February when the police personnel, municipal team which had gone to demolish the illegal structures at Malik ka Bageecha areas were fiercely stoned, and properties including more than hundred vehicles etc burnt to rubble. About six persons had died in this violence and over three hundred injured, some seriously.
The local police had arrested about 42 persons allegedly involved in this violence and subsequent six deaths as well and injuries to several hundred people.
The police took the help of the CCTV footages and tried to locate and recognise the culprits. The posters of the most wanted culprits now absconding have been pasted by the Haldwani police in various locations of Nainital district and on transports buses etc. About 42 culprits have till now been arrested and sent to jail.
