Earlier, only Garhwali-Kumaoni dishes were served there every Sunday, but now in Uttarakhand Sadan, among the Pahari dishes, these Pahari food of Jaunsar Babar will also be available.
Jaunsar Babar Tribal Welfare Committee Delhi is very thankful to Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami for including these Jaunsar Bawar dishes in the menu of Uttarakhand Sadan.
According to Ratan Singh Rawat, Chairman, Jaunsar Bawar Tribal Welfare Committee, it is a matter of great joy that today on 30th December 2023, people of Garhwal, Kumaon and Jaunsar Bawar will come to Uttarakhand Sadan to taste the dishes of Kumaon and Garhwal Pahari along with the dishes of Jaunsar Bawar. Celebrities participated!
Today, to prepare these dishes in Uttarakhand Sadan, the women of Jaunsar Bawar, prominent among them were Mrs. Geeta Singh Rawat, village Bulhad Khat Bharam Chakrata, Mrs. Jaya Rana, village Bhoot Babar, Mrs. Lakshmi Chauhan, village Ichhla, Jaunsar, Mrs. Birma Sharma, village Bhatad (Dhakara) Bawar, Mrs. Nirmala Rawat, Village Bhunad Babar etc came forward enthusiastically . The delicious Jaunsar Bawar food like Sidku, Peetha and Kankeyad of both types were prepared in Uttarakhand Sadan and it was filled with poppy seeds, bhangjeera and walnuts and served with ghee.
The second dish Mashayada-Bhat i.e. was cooked with red rice and urad urad and it is mixed with ghee, curd and on top of it the masala of poppy seeds and walnuts while eating. Apart from this, wheat chillas (also called patande) which are made exactly like dosa but are eaten with honey and ghee whereas the fourth dish called “Shashani” was prepared by frying rice and curd/buttermilk, all of which were relished by all the guests attending the event.
This program was organized under the aegis of Jaunsar Bawar Tribal Welfare Committee Delhi, in which Jaunsar Bawar Tribal Welfare Committee Delhi Chairman Ex IRS Shri Ratan Singh Rawat, President Vidhadat Joshi, General Secretary Sultan Singh Chauhan, Vice President Atar Singh Rana, Chaman Singh Rawat etc. Apart from this, the dignitaries include PC Nailwal from Garhwal Kumaon, former migration minister of Uttarakhand, Gopal Upreti, gardener and businessman who was awarded the President’s Award, KC Pandey, social worker, Harendra Oswal, Professor Zakir Hussain College Delhi, Roshan God, journalist, Sunil Negi, President of Uttarakhand Journalist Forum and senior journalist, C M Papne, journalist, Gopal Uniyal, businessman, K Naithani GMR Group, Mahesh Chandra ji, Ex Public Servant, SP Methani ji, Senior Librarian and Professor, Delhi University etc. were present to taste these dishes.
Apart from this, Rajendra Singh Tomar retired DGP retired Coast Guard and member NDMA Government of India, Manoj Sharma Chief Engineer Railway, Kulanand Joshi retired IAS Delhi Government, Mrs. Urmila Singh Tomar village Birmeu, Mrs. Sangeeta Semwal etc. were present from Jaunsar Bawar.

The former IRS and retired Income Tax senior bureaucrat Rattan Singh of Jaunsar Bawar on whose initiative these Jaunsaar Bawar Cuisines were added to the Uttarakhand Thali in Uttarakhand Sadan in Delhi by chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, thanked the CM for his support and cooperation explaining about the Jaunsaari dishes in detail as to how delicious they are and also beneficial for their health.
The senior bureaucrat in Delhi government Kulanand Joshi who is also associated with the organisation of Jaunsaar lauded the efforts of the CM and the ladies of Jaunsaar who prepared these delicious meals for the first time giving training to the chef and other kitchen staff of Uttarakhand Sadan.

Pandey renowned activist and director in a Japanese company into water purification in India Kailash Pandey while lauding the cumulative initiative of Jaunsari cuisines being added to Uttarakhand food Thali in Delhi’s Uttarakhand Sadan said how with his efforts and meeting with the then Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat Uttarakhand dishes of Kumaon and Garhwal were given tremendous prominence and Uttarakhand Thali introduced every where with special impetus of the then CM Rawat n the government.
The former DG Indian Coast Guard and currently member of National Disaster Management Authority Rajendra Singh who chaired the meeting lauded the organisation led by Rattan Singh, Kulanand Joshi and others especially the women of Jaunsaar in Delhi who prepared the Jaunsari cuisines and got it included in Uttarakhand Thalia from today, the New Year. He specifically thanked the Uttarakhand CM Dhami for agreeing to their request immediately and also lauded prime minister Narendra Modi for his dynamic leadership at the national level.
