BJP state high command’s meeting on Almora parliamentary seat held. Strong contender, cabinet minister Rekha Arya also present !

After the successful completion of the G 20 Summit in Delhi and the ruling political dispensation deriving full benefit out of it with ninety nine percent of the electronics and print media barring negligible part speaking extremely high of it, forgetting that such summits were also held earlier during the Indira and Rajiv Gandhi eras i. e. Non Allignment Meet, Anti Apartheid Summit etc in New Delhi drawing large number of foreign dignitaries and gaining tremendous momentum globally bringing good name for the country. Highly enthused by this recent successful attempt getting tremendous media publicity, the saffron party is in no mood not to exploit this golden opportunity.

Its national and state leaders have now started exercises of revamping the organisation and searching for better parliamentary candidates in various states and also briefing its leaders to disseminate the information about G 20 success ing the masses giving full credit to PM Modi. Moreover, Uttarakhand is also on a preparatory mode after winning a by election in Bageshwar Assembly in Kumaon division won by the deceased MLA Chandan Das’s wife Parvati Dass getting good number of sympathy votes despite Congress party and its senior leaders Harish Rawat and Devendra Yadav etc stay putting here for several days and holding good number of Padyatras, door to door campaigning and addressing well attended public meetings. Recently, the national BJP chief JP Nadda had also arrived at Haridwar and held a core committee meeting of State BJP in which CM Pushkar Singh Dhami, State chief Mahendra Bhatt, all Lok Sabha MPs, Rajya Sabha MP, state office bearers had participated. The BJP top leadership has in this high level meeting strictly instructed all the senior office bearers , MPs and government to activate themselves in view of the fast approaching general elections and go to villages to establish direct contact with the electorates.

Meanwhile, the state BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt has started visiting all the parliamentary constituencies of Uttarakhand to revive the organisation at the grass root levels and assess for himself as to which capable candidate could be selected, whether to continue the sitting MPs or to go for change etc.

Yesterday the BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt, Organising secretary Ajay Singh, General Secretary BJP Rajendra Singh Bisht , Almora MP and former state minister at the centre Ajay Tamata and all the MLAs including Rekha Arya held a meeting to reactivate the BJP in the constituency and also to assess the possibility of the candidate to contest from here.

According to sources Rekha Arya, the current Women and Child Welfare minister and MLA from Someshwar was sitting in the front seat against the present MP Ajay Tamata. Rekha is believed to interested to contest from this parliamentary seat. In a message on X earlier Twitter, the Social Welfare and Woman development minister Rekha Arya has written to have met the BJP chief Mahendra Bhatt and organising secretary of the state Ajay Singh terming it a courtesy call though everyone knows that she was also a part of the meeting of Almora constituency to deliberate on the organisational revamp and the parliamentary candidate etc. Being a ruling party for the second time and Ajay Tamta repeating from Almora, anti incumbency factor does arise and the saffron party does not seems to be in a mood to take any further risk further, come what may. Therefore there are reports that the state leadership is in search of new, transparent and capable candidates who can replace the present MPs in some constituencies out of total five, especially whose chances of victory are not good. As far as the question of Almora seat is concerned state cabinet minister Rekha Arya is believed to be a serious contender. Kindly recall that in the Core Committee meeting of BJP held last month the BJP chief J. P. Nadda had catagorically said that the BJP leadership wants that all the five seats are repeated this time as well, come what may.

Ajay Tamta, the second term sitting MP from Almora has been constantly in touch with his voters and always proactive in by elections, party meetings of all levels right from block to state including establishing contacts with grass root workers. He also ensures to establish contact with state BJP leaders, its observers and state CM particularly to keep all of them in good hunour. But are these achievements enough to entice voters and will he be continue for the third time remains to be seen.
