Congress chief writes to PM Modi requesting free education in Navodaya Schools who’d lost their father or both the parents
The Congress chief and chairperson of Congress parliamentary party Sonia Gandhi has while expressing her serious concern over the the devastation and unbearable losses caused by the heart wrenching tragedies during the critical Covid 19 lockdown and anguished n traumatised children losing their parents with a bleak future ahead, has shot a letter to prime minister Narendra Modi to issue official directions for granting free of cost education to the children of Navodaya Schools who’d unfortunately lost their single or both the parents during the most critical and challenging Covid times in order to provide these hapless orphaned children a new ray of hope for a robust future.
Congress chief Sonia Gandhi while remembering her former prime minister husband Rajiv Gandhi said that her husband’s most significant legacies was to build a network of Navodaya Vidhyalayas all over the country, in order to impart high quality modern education accessible and affordable to the talented students and youths predominantly from the rural areas who are devoid of best quality education.
Lauding the relentless efforts of her late husband Rajiv Gandhi she added that due to his outstanding efforts and initiative to provide best of education to talented youths and students of the rural areas of the country, there are today 661 Navodaya Schools imparting best of quality education to the telented youths of the rural India.
In her letter to the prime minister Narendra Modi Congress chief Sonia Gandhi catagorically wrote that amidst the devastation caused by the pandemic and the heart wrenching tragedies being faced by the affected families, news of young children losing one or both parents to Covid 19 are the most poignant.
These children are left with the trauma of loss and no support towards a stable education or future. I am writing to request you to consider providing a free education at the Navodaya Vidhyalayas to children who have lost either both parents or an earning member of the family to Covid 19 pandemic further concluding her letter saying that I feel, as a nation, we owe to them to give them hope for a robust future after the unimaginable tragedy that has beffallen them wrote Sonia Gandhi to PM Modi.
It may be recalled that the Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejrival has announced two days ago that the Delhi government has decided to give 50000 Rs to those who’d succumbed to Covid 19 and Rs. 2500 as monthly financial support to the children or a widow who’d lost their parents or husband or sole earning member to dreaded Covid 19. He has also announced to bear the entire educational expenses of these hapless children at the behest of Delhi govt. Rendering them free education.
