Veteran actor Salim Ghouse dies of heart attack. Bollywood and South Film industry in shock.

Mumbai Film and TV Industry as well the the film fraternity of the South has been extremely shocked on learning about the sad demise of a veteran actor of Shakespearean proportions at the age of seventy.

We are talking of none other than an actor of excellence with precision, versatile and multifaceted personality having a heavy clear dialogue deliveries Mr. Salim Ghouse, who played impressive roles in several Bollywood n South Indian films including TV serials impressing his fans at the pan India level.

Seventy year old Salim Ghouse breathed his last in Mumbai after suffering from cardiac arrest.

Veteran stage , televison and film actor, having worked in several Bollywood and Southern films Salim Ghouse is a famous typical face of hindi and southern silver screen having performed excellently in Bharat Ek Khoj, based on former PM Jawahar Lal Nehru’s Discovery of India made by Shyam Benegal, Wagle Ki Duniya, Subah, Koyla etc with Shahrukh Khan and Madhuri Dikshit in 1997 playing the character on Vettai Karan. He also acted well in other Hindi movies such as Maharaja, Soldier etc to name a few. In Southern movies Salim Ghouse acted in Mani Ratnam’s Thiruda Thiruda in 1993 in an impressive role of a villain and also acted against renowned Malyalam actor Mohan Lal in Thazvaram including in a popular Tamil movie Vettri Vijha acting as a villain against Kamal Hassan in 1989.

According to the family members of the veteran actor, ailing Salim Ghouse was taken to Bhirubhai Ambani Kokila Ben Hospital on Wednesday night after he complained of chest pain and tightness in heart.

He unfortunately could not recover thereafter despite the best efforts of the doctors.

Born and brought up in Chennai the actor graduated from FTII Pune, Maharashtra thereby joining theatres making his mark in films n TV serials thereafter.

Meanwhile actor n writer Vivaan Shah has termed him as a towering actor of Shakespearean proportions while expressing his deepest condolences in his tweet.

He wrote : RIP Salim Ghouse Sir, Deeply devastated to hear of his passing. A great great artist and a wonderful human being. A towering actor of Shakespearean proportions. My heart goes out to Anita Mam and Aryamana. Strength and Prayers to the whole family tweeted Vivaan.
