When will the Naxalite attacks come to an end question everyone ?
The diabolical killings of eleven district reserve guards in an anti Naxalites operation in Dantewada, Chattisgarh has send shock waves across the country and also put a big question mark on the government of Chattisgarh.
The brutal Naxalite killings of 11 personnel of DRG in Dantewada, especially after the Union home minister Amit Shah had assured that by 2024 naxalism would be wiped out from Chattisgarh or the country by all means and positively patting his back, has indeed being seen as a huge setback to the state and central governments, rather a slap on the system.
This severe attack on the security forces claiming eleven lives including a driver through IEDs so conveniently also shows the negligence and heedlessness on the part of the security forces, DRG and the state Police especially when this tragedy has occurred near a police station in Dantewada, Chattisgarh.
The way, the powerful explosion resulted in the bodies going several meters away in pieces despicably killing the DRG brave hearts after earlier two such tragedies that claimed lives of seven security personnel few months ago in a Maoist attack in the month of February and another two years ago in Bastar ( heart of rebel heartland) in which 22 personnel died in gunfights with Maoists, it sounds unambiguously sure that the Naxalites are least worried and are hell bent upon challenging the state and central governments despite the hard fact that in December, the union minister of state for home Nityanand Rai has revealed in Lok Sabha that the incidents of left wing extremism have reduced by 77% from 2,213 mishappenings of naxalite violence at the pan India level to 509 in 2021.
Union Minister Amit Shah had then said that by 2024 general elections, his government would ensure that the nation becomes naxalism free.
Kindly recall that that anti Naxalites Cobra Commando force set up years ago and successive governments making tall claims to bring naxalism to halt has not shown credible results that may ensure that Naxalism has come to halt or decreased to a credible extent.
Cobra ( Commandos Batallion for Resolute Action ) which is a special operation unit of Central Reserve Police Force of India was established to counter naxalite movement in 2011 being considered as one of the most experienced and successful law enforcement force with a total budget of Rs. 293 billions.
According to an Indian Express report of March 12 , 2014 while over 12000 people have been killed in Naxal violence during the past twenty years before 2014 , the home ministry statistics reveal that in 2004 – 565 people lost their precious lives in naxalite violence while in 2005,659 lost their lives. In 2006, 698 people were killed while in 2008, 717 people. In 2009, and 2010 about 908 and 1,005 died in various Naxal attacks respectively reveals the home ministry report.
According to another report – during the last ten years a worst naxalite attack occurred in 2017, in the month of April dated 26 when 25 CRPF personnel were brutally killed and seven injured in Naxalite attacks in Sukma district of South Chattisgarh. The biggest Naxal attack took place on April 6, 2010 when 75 CRPF personnel were killed by Naxalites ( Maoists) in Dantewada district of Chattisgarh sending shock waves not only in India but in entire world.
