Two cars stolen on early morning few days ago from Lodhi Colony while the third attempt of car thieves shelved after some residents raised alarm. No result till yet !

Lodi Colony is considered to be the prestigious colony in NDMC area with central government officers living hear considered to be the backbone of bureaucracy. This colony with specious flats was built during British era before independence. But unfortunately these days the car robbers, mobile and chain snatchers freely roam here including the drug addicts who have least terror of the law and police authorities committing frequent stealings in these locality. Snatching mobiles and lifting iron covers of windows frequently has become order of the day with police becoming helpless. Not only this but lifting of cars and bikes have also led to the local residents of Lodhi colony feeling totally insecure. Just three weeks ago while two attempts were made by mobile lifters and snatchers pouncing upon a local resident of 16 block with people reluctant to file complaint, few days ago two cars, one BREZZA AND ANOTHER SWIFT D’ZIRE were lifted by the gang of three car lifters from 2 to three A. M. in the early morning hours. According to the CCTV footage the car lifters first stole the BREZZA from a house on roadside and then changed its number plate. They thereafter went on the back side house in the same block and stole the SWIFT DZIRE within minutes. It is believed that they attempted to stole another car in another block but their attempt was shelved as some people raised alarm resulting in these car robbers running away in desperation with both the already stolen cars. The case has been registered in Lodhi Colony police station and the owner of stolen cars have been meeting the police urging to trace their cars and robbers at the earliest but of no avail. After Lodhi colony becoming the Lodhi Art district the students, people from nearby and other localities including Art lovers, U Tubers and those living in the surrounding J. J. clusters frequent these areas and some of the criminal elements may be executing recce exercise during day time under the guise of watching the wall paintings. Several allottees of Lodhi Colony have shifted from here in view of the insecurity and unusual and criminal elements frequenting this colony under the guise of watching the wall paintings ( murals). Moreover, police petrolling is seldom seen here during day and night hours and this robbery of two cars in a single day with the robbers’ third attempt being shelved is a clear cut instance of no terror of law agencies in the mind of these unlawful elements giving a warning signal to the police to kindly ensure that such car thefts and snatchings do no recur in Lodhi Colony area with both the car recovered at the earliest bought from the hard earned salary of the owners. Kindly recall that the police station and the main crime special cell office is just at a stone’s throw away from these quarters.
