Parents complain of their children’s harrasment for not paying the enhanced fee

Just after one and a half month of the BJP coming to power in Delhi the private public school fees have been enhanced by ten percent and even more with parents disturbed, protesting and complaining about their children being allegedly harassed by the school authorities for not paying the enhanced fees. Some are even complaining regarding their children made to sit for extra hours in the classes and even being library arrested. The previous government of AAP led by Arvind Kejrival has during their rule of the past ten years never raised the fee and instead had unambiguously instructed the private school authorities particularly the high profile schools not to do so or be ready to face severe consequences including their audit carried out by the CAG empanelled Chartered Accountants every year. However, after the saffron party came to power in Delhi, AAP complaints that the private public schools have issued notices for enhancing the frees multiply beyond the capacity of the parents to pay majority of whom are government servants / officers. One of the affected fathers had while speaking to media have openly accused the Delhi Public School Dwarka management for keeping her daughter who is in 9 th standard in the class on punishment and son undergoing library arrest. When asked why was so, he responded saying that since I was paying the fee as before i.e Rs. 7000 and above, but not the increased fees of 17 thousand every month for a single child my children were made to suffer. He complained that the fees of his two children were increased from Rs. 7 thousand to 17 thousand which is beyond my capacity to pay and I paid the fee approved by the Directorate of Education. Kindly recall that there have been protests by the affected parents in almost every school where fees have been arbitrarily enhanced in Delhi including protest letters submitted to school authorities questioning the reason behind it. The former Delhi chief minister Atishi Marlena has condemned the Delhi government and said that a clandestine meeting between the Delhi education minister Ashish Sood and the proprietors pf all the private public schools of Delhi was held few days ago and were told that let the issue die down first then they will officially give the private school a go ahead permanently. This charge was strongly denied by the Delhi education minister saying that the AAP leader Atishi has no work except to call a press conference and create rumours on frivolous issues day in and day out.
