Truck falls 150 metres down in a gorge, killing the driver instantaneously, with two grievously injured in Tehri Garhwal
A heart wrenching tragedy has occured in Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand on Wednesday early morning at 4.00 AM when a truck fell into a deep gorge taking the life of the driver while grievously injuring two others who were travelling in the truck. On hearing the news the local police and the state disaster management authority reached the accidental spot and took the injured to the higher health centre for treatment as the injuries were grievous. The dead driver’s body has been retrieved and sent to the mortuary and fir post mortem as well. According to the information given by the incharge of Kotwali, New Tehri Ajay Kumar Jatav this tragedy occured at 4 AM near Sulyadhar and n Chanba Uttarkashi Road. The truck was heading for Uttarkashi from Roorkee where may be due to fatigue or sleep in between the truck fell into a deep gorge 150 metres downwards taking several twists and turns while falling killing the driver instantaneously with two other being grievously injured. Among the three was a driver who has been killed, a woman and a cleaner. Both the injured have been referred to higher health centre where they are being treated.
