Uttarakhand CM spoke to Delhi CM Rekha Gupta urging relief to Chef Keshav Negi, Anil Baluni MP speaks to Delhi police commissioner

The issue of the arbitrary arrest of the chef Keshav Negi in connection with the massive fire at Malviya Nagar the other day is very much being discussed in social media and the politicians of Uttarakhand have come to the fore to lend their lip sympathies. This sympathy is coming from the Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami to the MPs in Delhi representing Uttarakhand viz Trivendra Singh Rawat and Anil Baluni from Pauri Garhwal and Haridwar, who fortunately hail from the ruling political dispensation in Uttarakhand and the centre and whose government is ruling in Delhi too with Delhi police under their jurisdiction. There is not an inkling of doubt that the entire Uttarakhand and people at the pan India level are tremendously disturbed and emotionally impacted by the tragedy that took twenty one precious lives in this massive fire tragedy which included the brutal death of eight family members. The police have arrested the owner of the Hotel Lovkush Bajaj and few others who are in police custody being thoroughly interogated. There was a massive violation of building bylaws and instead of six , more than twenty four rooms were constructed , including rooms un the basement and profit minted manifold by the owner from the guests coming to attend their patients in Max hotel nearby. There were several foreign African guests as well who were the victims. The day fire erupted in the hotel, the basement or the main gate of the hotel was locked. which was cut by the fire brigade officials. The majority of occupants of the hotel died of asphyxiation due to smoke and massive fire burns. Those who could save themselves jumped from the top floors built illegally on the dunlop Mattresses laid down by a shopkeeper nearby who literally arranged a good number of his shop’s mattresses not worried about the losses. Several locals arranged the stairs from outside and brought the victims out of the building. There were around eight persons of the minority community who came like messengers of God to save those trapped inside , the dead being hard lucked , unfortunately. The matter caught the national attention and the Delhi government’s position was at stake with the chief minister Rekha Gupta and her ministers vigorously at work with opposition leaders accusing the government with blame game taking the front seat. The arrest of Keshav Negi , Chef has raised several eyebrows of concern in the Uttarakhand community of Delhi and in Uttarakhand with social media full of posts and news about the police allegedly trying to trap an innocent chef who is in no way responsible for the fire in this hotel with a blotless background. The Pauri Garhwal MP and highly connected Anil Baluni spoke to the Delhi police commissioner and was assured of his full support with Haridwar MP Trivendra Singh Rawat too speaking to the family, advocate in record of SC Jaswant Rawat and assuring all possible help. Several delegations of the Uttarakhand social organisations in Delhi have visited the house of the chef Keshav Negi and gave assurance that the Uttarakhand community is fully with them in this hour of crisis. While the law will take its own course in this case but the fact of the matter is how can a chef with innocent blot free background be responsible for the massive fire and how can he be accountable for the violation of the building by laws, fire safety and the arbitrary construction carried out by the owner Lavkush Bajaj who was already involved in criminal acts as being given to under stand by the police. We request the Delhi police commissioner Sir to ensure that the investigations are carried out in complete fairness and keeping justice to an innocent man in mind. The Uttarakhand community in Delhi is badly outraged the way an innocent chef has been arrested with alleged no crime or fault of his and held accountable for a crime not at all committed by him. Hope justice will prevail and Keshav Negi will be released at the earliest as justice delayed amounts to justice denied.
