Six dead bodies recovered in an helicopter crash at Kedarnath site. Two pilots among six dead !
There is an extremely shocking and traumatic news coming in from Garhwal, Uttarakhand yet again where a helicopter carrying six passengers including a pilot has crashed near Kedarnath in a hilly terrain. According to the news a helicopter carrying six passengers crashed near Garur Chatti about three kilometres before Kedarnath Shrine reportedly killing two pilots and four passengers on the spot .
What is tragic about this crash is the helicopter came down rapidly crashing just after the take off from the helipad with pilgrims going to pay their obeisance to Lord Kedar at Kedarnath shrine. There were in sll seven people on board says the news reports. It was a foggy day n weather was inclement as well to some extent. After this tragic crash of the copter the debris of the crashed helicopter and the dead bodies could be seen. All the dead bodies have reportedly been retrieved. The rescue operation is however on full swing. The Union civil aviation minister Jyotiradirya Scindia while expressing his deepest condolences said that he is personally monitoring the situation terming the accident as unfortunate. The minister tweeted : The helicopter crash in Kedarnath is extremely unfortunate. We are in touch with the State government to ascertain the magnitude of the loss, and are constantly monitoring the situation tweeted Civil Aviation minister. Om Shanti.
After opening of the Chat Dham Yatras about 42 pilgrims visited these pious historical shrines from all over the country and abroad. It was a record in itself but unfortunately about three hundred people had died during these pilgrimages. According to social activist Meenakshi Kandwal this is anguishing n shocking but there is an inevitable need to establish a balance between geographical situation, increasing crowds of pilgrims and the resources available n used.
The former Uttarakhand CM Harish Rawat has, also expressed his, deepest condolences praying to Almighty to render peace to the departed soul and strength to the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss. The Uttarakhand chief minister Pushkar Singh Dhami while expressing his grief on this tragic helicopter crash tweeted in hindi : Heard the extremely sad news about the death of some persons near Kedarnath at Garur Chatti. The SDRF and district administration’s rescue team have reached the accident n crash spot. Orders have been issued to probe this tragic incident tweeted Uttarakhand chief minister.
