The Indian Film critic and journalist Murtaza Ali Khan’s sixty five year old mother is suffering from acute cancer. He is helpless and took her to All India Institute of medical sciences the other day only to be met with a shabby treatment and non cooperation including man handling as reported by him.

The prolific writer, film critic and journalist complained that last night she was refused treatment at AIIMS Emergency and when he tried to request the doctors about the criticality of her health (severe post chemo toxicity) they along with security manhandled and also told me that now we will ensure that your mother neither gets treated nor gets discharged all night long. That’s how sadistic and vengeful they are… worst kind of bullies said the journalist adding further that he is willing to say this on record… for the last many months we have struggled to get my mom treated at AIIMS for her dual oral and stomach cancers and today she is critically ill. Murtaza who is in real problems with his cancer ailing mother desperately want her treatment at AIIMS, further stated that the non cooperative staff including doctors said arrogantly that if you are really the journalist of your salt then why come here, go to Max super speciality or Appolo ,” if your stature is worth it ( in Hindi) ( Agar Tumhari Aukat Hai to) shouting, yelling, and manhandling. He asked if a journalist is treated like this despite he disclosing his identity what would be the fate of a commoner asked Murtaza Ali Khan. He was so disturbed and shattered at this arrogant , unexpected shabby treatment at AIIMS that he wrote on X a lengthy message about his plight. Murtaza after this shameful incident wrote on X : After 3 months of constant toil, the result of my mother’s cancer treatment at #AIIMSNewDelhi is absolute zero. Today, they are even refusing to admit her in the Emergency despite showing clear signs of Chemo toxicity. The utter arrogance, indifference, and conceit of the doctors and staff at AIIMS Emergency is really deplorable. And they operate with such an abysmal level of highhandedness and cruelty that they think of themselves as Gods when none of their traits reflect even an iota of kindness or empathy. And even worse is the unholy nexus between the doctors and the guards, who are part bouncers, part pimps incessantly partaking in a plethora of shady affairs at AIIMS that go completely unchecked. Who says AIIMS is the best? If its doctors are not adequate enough to serve the average citizen then what’s the point in such lofty proclamations?
