PROTEST DHARNA AT JANTAR MANTAR IN SUPPORT OF NIRBHAYA OF NAJAFGARH COMMENCED ON 12 TH MARCH, 2023

An indefinite protest dharna was organised at January Mantar on 12 th March, 2023 by Matrabhoomi Sewa Party in which the father of Nirbhaya of Najafgarh Kiran Negi also participated along with good number of social activists of various social organisations, NGOs including activists of few political parties, women , journalists and literatures etc. The protestors in this indefinite dharna as bring claimed by the organizers is demanding strictest if the punishment, especially death sentence to the culprits of late Kiran Negi and Ankita Bhandari at the earliest urging the honourable Supreme Court to reverse its earlier decision under which a three judge bench had in the month if November acquitted all the three convicts blaming the Delhi Police for patchy investigations with several loopholes ultimately giving the culprits benefit of doubt. The father of the Nirbhaya of Najafgarh has said that his relentless struggle will continue till the end till his bereaved and anguished family dies not get due justice and culprits hanged to death. It may be recalled that the earlier three convicts were granted death sentence by the Dharna session court and upheld by the high court in 2024 n thereafter but acquitted in 2022, November making Uttarakhand is and other right thinking people annoyed and disenchanted with the apex court’s decision. But now the three review petitions filed in Supreme Court have been admitted by honourable CJI D Y Chandrachud and two other justices Bela M. Trivedi and Ravindra Bhattji. The protestors were raising slogans demanding justice to Kiran Negi saying that they will not rest till the end and has urged the honourable apex court justices to give due justice to the Nirbhaya of Najafgarh who was horrendously killed after gang rape in 2012 before the Nirbhaya of Vasant Vihar whose all the four culprits were sentenced to death but not in the case of late Kiran Negi, in which all the three hardened criminals and convicts were acquitted. The chief of MSP Kamal Dhyani thanked the matrashakti and all the participants who’d made this, dharna a grand success.
