Naib Subedar in Indian Army dies in Kosi river after being downed. Was from Almora primarily
Extremely sad news is emerging from Uttarakhand’s Nainital district, where a tragic accident occurred while bathing in a river near Dhari Udiyar on the Shaheed Balwant Singh Motorway in Betalghat, Garampani.
A Naib Subedar serving in the Army lost his life while bathing in the river.
The family of the deceased has been devastated by the incident.
According to the information, 38-year-old Prithvi Pal Singh Rawat, a resident of Rahat Kunsiyari in the Almora district, was currently a resident of Haruni Bhagwanpur in the Nainital district.
Last Friday, he was coming from Ranikhet to Haluni. Meanwhile, at 2:30 in the afternoon, Prithvi Pal Singh stopped the car near Dhari Udiyar on the Shaheed Balwant Singh Motor Road in Betalghat, Garampani and reached the Kosi River to take a bath.
While bathing in the river, Prithvi Pal Singh’s foot slipped and he began to drown in the strong current of the water.
Other companions present with him tried their best to save him but were unsuccessful.
As soon as the people nearby learned of the incident, they immediately rushed to the scene, where the police administration and the SDRF team rescued Prithvi Pal Singh. After a rescue operation that lasted approximately two and a half hours, Prithvi Pal Singh’s body was found stuck on rocks 3 kilometers away.
Prithvi Pal Singh was currently posted at the Education Corps in Bathinda, Punjab. He had come home on leave to perform religious rituals. His 6-year-old son, Om, was also present at the scene and was in deep shock after watching his father drown before his eyes.
