“MUKHJAATRA” BASED ON SUPREME SACRIFICE OF REVOLUTIONARIES NAGENDRA SAKLANI AND MOLU BHARDARI ENACTED BY UFNI AT PYARELAL BHAVAN LAUDED TO THE HILT
A play titled “MUKHJATRA”, WRITTEN BY Dr. Sunil Kaithola and directed by NSD alumni, postgraduate Dr. Suvarn Rawat was staged today at Pyarelal Bhavan auditorium at ITO, New Delhi.
The play based on the pre and post independent incessant struggle led the then Gandhian and revolutionary Narendra Saklani to free Tehri Garhwal from the clutches of the then TEHRI DYNASTIC RULE symbolic of utter repression, oppression, torture and barbarism was staged with immense dexterity under the excellent direction of Dr. Suvarn Rawat lauded by one and all.
The play very ably exhibited the multi dimensional facets of the then ruling dynasty of TEHRI Garhwal leading to the evolution of people’s struggle for freedom finally leading to the killing of revolutionary Nagendra Saklani and Monu Bhardari by the police of the TEHRI Kingdom on the orders of the then cruel TEHRI dynast.
The then Gandhian freedom fighter Trepan Singh Negi, (who was elected MP from TEHRI Garhwal during seventies and eighties) and the Peshawar mutiny hero Chandra Singh Garhwali led the corpses of both the revolutionary parading them from Kirti Nagar to TEHRI mobilising thousands of people longing for their freedom from the TEHRI Rajshahi’s tortuous, cruel and repressive rule, finally achieving freedom and the TEHRI dynasty compelled to annex with the Indian Union.
The play was enacted under the auspices of UFNI and sponsored by Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari Academy Delhi.
The former president of India, Umakant Lakhera, secretary of the Garhwali, Kumaoni and Jaunsari academy Sanjay Kumar Garg, Press advisor to Uttarakhand CM in Delhi Mr. Madan Mohan Sati, Dr. Harisuman Bisht, renowned musician Mr. Dhaundiyal, Mr. Dhyani, journalist Mrs Sushma Dhyani, Sunil Negi, editor UK Nation News, Sanyogita Dhyani, ( UFNI),Sachchidanand Sharma, former Uttarakhand state minister and Dr. Sunil Kainthola, the script writer of the historical play, highlighting the supreme sacrifice of the unsung heroes of TEHRI Garhwal revolution, lit the lights of the lamp and inaugurated the play.
The guests were also felicitated with a, shawl and bouquets by UFNI. The play was lauded by one and all as the audience remained glued to their seats till the end personally meeting the artists and congratulating them.
Written by Dr. Sunil Kainthola, directed by Dr. Suvarna Rawat and equipped with folk songs written by senior poet Madan Duklan ji, the play “Mukhjatra” features many established and new artists of Garhwali dramas like Darshan Singh Rawat, Mamta Karnataka, Imush Banduni, Savita Pant. , Rampal Kimoli, Bharat Bisht, Muskaan Bhandari and the children of the new generation along with well-known faces of Garhwali films Kusum Bisht, Rakesh Gaur, Ajay Bisht, P.S. Chauhan, Jagmohan Rawat, Dr. Satish Kaleshwari and Anju Bhandari performed brilliantly and earned immense appreciation from the audience.
In the end of the play entire artists were introduced to the audience amid cheers and the writer Dr. Sunil Kainthola and director Suvarn Rawat heartily congratulated and lauded for their outstanding play. The vice chairman of the academy Kuldeep Bhandari and Vinod Bacheti addressed the audience lauding UFNI for their fantastic play.
