What film critics are calling a true miracle and divine magic, a small-budget devotional film made on the life of Baba Neem Karoli Maharaj, whose famous Kainchi Dham temple is located near Bhawali in Nainital, has become a runaway blockbuster across India.
Made on a meagre budget of just *Rs 2 crore*, the Hindi film *’Hanuman Ansh’* has shattered all trade expectations and is running to packed houses. The film, which was released in cinemas on 7th August 2026, has collected around Rs 50 crore gross in just 24 days of its launch, delivering over 500 percent profit.
According to latest trade figures, the film’s box office journey has been astonishing. After a slow start, it picked up purely on word of mouth and devotion.
Day 22: Rs 6.25 Cr*
Day 23: Rs 9.25 Cr*
Day 24: Rs 12.75 Cr* – showing a massive 37.8% growth
The film is currently running in 5,363 shows across India. On Day 24, it recorded an overall Hindi 2D occupancy of 61.61%, with evening occupancy touching a phenomenal 80%.
Total India Net Collection till Day 24: Rs 40.13 Cr*
Total India Gross Collection: Rs 47.33 Cr*
As per Wikipedia and trade estimates, Total Box Office: Rs 42.31 Cr*
Written and directed by Dr. Vishal Chaturvedi, who was once a doctor turned filmmaker, the film is based on his book ‘Divine Detour’. It is produced by *Ragini S, Namrata G Singh, Anupriya A Nagar and Vishal Chaturvedi* under the banners of SWAMbhu Media Network Pvt Ltd and Holy Cow Home Productions, with All India distribution by Cinepolis and Panorama Studios for Delhi-UP.
The film stars Shobhinaw Satyaa in the lead role as Baba Neem Karoli, along with Chandan Anand as Dr. Ram Nandan Bhosale, Purnima Tiwari, Vihaan Shedge as the younger Maharaj Ji, Anil K Rastogi, Gulshan Pandey and others. Cinematography is by Vishal Bawa, editing by Shankh Rajadhyaksha and music by Sadhu Sushil Tiwari.
What makes the success more remarkable is its unconventional promotion. Director Vishal Chaturvedi revealed that the team had no big marketing budget, so instead they organized eight bhandaras across the country to spread Baba’s message of “Love all, Serve all, Feed all and Remember Ram” which became their campaign. The film has received a U certificate and has been widely appreciated by devotees of Baba, whose followers include global icons like Steve Jobs, Mark Zuckerberg, Julia Roberts, Virat Kohli and Anushka Sharma.
Trade analysts say the success of ‘Hanuman Ansh’ proves that content rooted in Bharat’s Sant Parampara and spirituality can defeat big-budget commercial cinema when blessed by true faith.
