Iran opens Strait of Hormuz after the ceasefire declaration between Israel and Lebanon

After the formidable Peace Accord ” ceasefire” between Israel and Lebanon, Iran has opened the blockade of the “Strait of Hormuz” though not for all or with certain preconditions.
According to various news reports including Reuters after the ceasefire anouncement between both the setting nations – Israel and Lebanon , Iran announced on 17 th April that the “Strait of Hormuz” has been opened for all the commercial ships which may not be considered as a permanent relief but till the time the ceasefire exists said the Iran regime.

The opening of the Strait of Hormuz only allows the commercial ships like oil and gas tankers including other essential materials like food and medicines etc to operate strictly prohibiting the ships carrying arms and ammunition.
While this decision is a huge relief for majority of the countries of the world, for India this opening of Strait of Hormuz is of great importance.
It may be recalled that Strait of Hormuz supplies ships of twenty percent of the (crude)oil, gas business of the world.
While announcing this decision Iran has made it absolutely clear that Ships must follow secure routes established in coordination with the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), as practical risks remain. The threat of landmines at sea has not been completely eliminated.
The US naval blockade has not yet been fully resolved.
Meanwhile another healthy and positive development has come to light today that United States and Iran has been moving ahead with the deliberations in the peace Accord between them. According to Ebrahim Zolfaghari on his X handle : U.S. and Iran Advancing Toward a Historic 3-Page Peace Framework – Per Axios Concise 3-page peace plan under active negotiation to end the conflict
💰 Major economic relief: U.S. to release $20 billion in frozen Iranian funds
☢️ Nuclear breakthrough: Iran agrees to relinquish its stockpile of enriched uranium
🔄 Secure handling: Portion of highly enriched uranium shipped to a third country; remainder down-blended inside Iran under strict IAEA monitoring
🏥 Peaceful nuclear future: Iran permitted to operate nuclear research reactors exclusively for producing medical isotopes
🔍 Transparency guaranteed: All nuclear facilities to be located above ground for full international oversight
This “cash-for-uranium” proposal could mark a significant step toward de-escalation, sanctions relief, and regional stability.
Talks are ongoing — a potential game-changer for peace in the Middle East.
What do you think — breakthrough or too good to be true asked Zofaghari of Iran Times.
