Grand Stage of Uttarakhand’s Regional Cinema and Music Lit Up in New Delhi, Outstanding Artists Honoured at Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards 2026

The auditorium of Bharat Mandapam in the national capital New Delhi witnessed a grand celebration of Uttarakhand’s regional cinema, folk music and folk culture on Sunday as Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards (YUCA) 2026 was organized with great pomp. At the ceremony, artists, filmmakers, singers, musicians and other talents who made outstanding contribution in the field of Uttarakhand’s regional cinema and music in the year 2025 were honoured in different categories. Many renowned artists, filmmakers, musicians and art lovers associated with Uttarakhand’s art and culture were present on the occasion.
Renowned senior theatre artist who has acted in many films and music albums Shri Bimal Bahuguna was honoured with the Young Uttarakhand Lifetime Achievement Award and renowned folk singer, Jagar Samrat and Padma Shri Pritam Bharatwan ji was honoured with the Gopal Babu Goswami Legendary Singer Award.
Under the film category, the following artists were honoured with trophies in various categories for their outstanding contribution in the year 2025 – Best Actor in a lead role – Sunil Singh for the film Raibar, Best Actress in a lead role jointly – Karishma Shah for the film Ghaprol and Kalyani Gangola for the film Dwi Hola Jab Sath, Best Villain – Kailash Kandwal for Ghaprol, Best Comedian – Deepak Bangwal for Ghaprol, Best Supporting Actor – Deepak Rawat for Kholi Ka Ganesh, Best Supporting Actress – Suman Gaur for Raibar, Best Cinematographer – Dharmendra Sisodia for Raibar, Best Story – Shishir Uniyal / Bhagat Singh Saini for Raibar, Best Film Director – Shishir Uniyal for Raibar, Best Film – Raibar and Best Background Score – Vibhu Kashiv for Raibar.
Under the music category, winners in different categories were – Best Lyricist – Narendra Singh Negi for the song Ku Rai Hola Chhunyal, Best Music Composer – Kushal Singh Neel for Panchachuli Desh, Best Cinematography – Dharmendra Singh Jetha for Meri Maya Rauli, Best Singer – Ganesh Martolia for Panchachuli Desh, Best Singer Female – Ruchi Jangpangi for Panchachuli Desh, Best Video Director – Siddh Bhoj for Aankhyun Baat, Best Acting Male – Mohit Ghildiyal for Ku Rai Hola Chhunyal, Best Acting Female – Karuna Shrestha for Panchachuli Desh and Best Song / Production House – Panchachuli Desh by Chandni Enterprises Production.
Film Raibar, which won the Best Film award, was also given a cash prize of Rs One lakh by Karyashala of Abhivyakti. This prize money is not only a recognition of the creative achievement of the film but also an important initiative towards encouraging meaningful and quality regional cinema in Uttarakhand.
The award ceremony was not limited to honours only but also became a vibrant festival of Uttarakhand’s living folk culture. Various folk artists presented a wonderful glimpse of Uttarakhand’s cultural heritage on the stage of Bharat Mandapam with their enchanting live singing and traditional dance performances. The performances mesmerized the audience and the entire auditorium was seen swaying to the folk tunes of Uttarakhand. The most memorable moment of the ceremony came when Uttarakhand’s most beloved folk singer Shri Narendra Singh Negi ji gave a live performance of his popular songs. For the first time on the stage of Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards, his performance created special enthusiasm among the audience. When the favourite and ideal of lakhs of Uttarakhandis, Shri Narendra Singh Negi ji entered the stage, the entire auditorium echoed with thunderous applause and the whole hall swayed to his songs. Young Uttarakhand Cine Awards once again gave the message that Uttarakhand’s regional cinema and folk music with its distinct identity is continuously making its place and identity at the national level. Organizers say that along with providing a platform to the new generation of artists and filmmakers, this event is an important effort towards taking forward the rich tradition of Uttarakhand’s folk art, culture and music. The grand ceremony held at Bharat Mandapam, bringing together Uttarakhand’s art, culture, cinema and music on a single platform, made it a memorable celebration of honouring artists and cultural pride.
