The former lawmaker from Haridwar, earlier in BJP now expelled whose audio clip was released in the social media by his wife actress Urmilla Sanawar creating quite a controversy naming the national office bearers of BJP and incharge Uttarakhand Dushyant Gautam and Ajay Singh as alleged VIPs in Ankita Bhandari case, has been arrested by the Uttarakhand police and sent to fourteen days judicial custody.
This arrest was made after an FIR was registered against him by the BJP leader Dushyant Gautam accusing him for denigrating his image levelling fictitious and fabricated charges and a doctored audio naming him falsely.
The FIR was registered against the former MLA Suresh Rathore under Sections 61(2), 336v (4), 353(2) and 356(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and Section 66(D) of the IT Act.
After the registration of the said FIR the Dehradun police had initiated an investigation in the matter during which section 308 (6) of the BNS pertaining to extortion was also added to the FIR on the basis of evidence and statements.
According to the Suprintendent of Police Mr. Pramod Kumar, the ex lawmaker from Haridwar has been arrested from Buggawala, Haridwar and brought to Dalanwala police station where he was formally arrested and produced before the magistrate sending to 14 days custody.
It may be recalled that three days earlier the Haridwar Ex MLA Suresh Rathore held a press conference in which he had revealed that the Uttarakhand High Court has quashed the two FIRs filed against him by the BJP leader Dushyant Gautam at Bhadrabad and Jhabrera police stations.
The FIRs were registerd on the basis of the written complaint by Dushyant Gautam who had catagorically said that his image in the public on fictitious and fabricated charges have been denigrated by Suresh Rathore, hence he should be arrested on relevant stringent charges of the BNS.
The CBI is already investigating the Ankita Bhandari case and the video which has mentioned the alleged names of Dushyant Gautam and Ajay Singh as VIPs in this case in the audio released by Urmila Sonawar in social media going absolutely viral had created quite a future, uproar and sensitivity in the political and legal corridors of Uttarakhand eliciting tremendous protests with the peoples outrage witnessed on the streets of Dehradun several months ago.
After tremendous pressure from the media and people’s rotest the CM was compelled to recommend the Ankita Bhandari case to the centre for early probe.
