WHEN LEGENDARY SINGER AND LYRICIST NARENDRA NEGI’S NAUCHAMI NARAINA CDs WERE SOLD IN MILLIONS
In Uttarakhand the Vice Chairmen of various corporations, boards and commissions with red beacons on their cars giving them the state ministers rank as in other states of the country are sort of a gift to assuage or oblige those who are active in the party and close to their respective God fathers including MLAs of the ruling party who couldn’t be made ministers. These Red Beacons posts are delivered to those who are influential in the party and government with no grass roots worker obliged ever.
These red beacon status holders with the state minister rank to establish their significance in their party, among friends and relatives and in society are also given a policeman with a gun in uniform who for some is counted as an unnecessary burden as they don’t want share their secretive engagements with them fearing alleged exposure of their personal engagement.
In addition to this some of them being from middle class can’t afford to offer them meals , tea and snacks or Kharchapani on daily basis.
There are others who think that this security personal is sort of an impediment in their way as accompanying him always with them becomes difficult for these “darjadharies” as they are not accustomed to keep them earlier being on the roads, as a common political worker of no relevance or significance.
I fondly remember that during the tenure of Narain Dutt Tiwari as the chief minister of Uttarakhand hundreds of Congress leaders n activists including several women members close to him were appointed as the state minister rank holders including some at the age of twenty.
There was lot of hulla balloo in the media that Lal Batties ( Red Beacons) have been distributed to unaccounted number of people including women members misusing the tax payers money who even didn’t deserve to be state ministers with red beacon.
The leading and eminent Garhwali lyricist and singer Narendra Singh Negi who was information officer in the Information department and allegedly had differences with the then UK CM had sung a mesmerising song making ridicule of Narayan Dutt Tiwari with an interesting visual under the title “NAUCHEMI NARENA” exhibiting Tiwari and all the red beacon holder state ministers ( imitating them in the visual) tieing red beacon over their heads, thus making mockery of the then CM.
This song with visual ( Cassettes, CDs) were sold in millions all over Uttarakhand and India and the prestigious magazines like India today had written in its English and Hindi edition giving full page about its success story selling millions of CDs earning name, fame and money.
This creation of eminent singer, lyricist and musician of Uttarakhand with Rama Casettes had then broken all records and the Congress government lost the elections giving way to BJP assume power in the state.
These red beacon holder state ministers get nominal salaries but good TA DA and perks etc, a car with red beacon, a security guard with gun and a full fledged office with staff , though they are hardly of any significance or relevance except exhibiting their political power as state ministers.
Some even say that it’s just a misuse of the tax payers money.
Majority of these darjadharies are close to union and state ministers, MPs , CM and the top leaders at the centre and become the Darjadharies by their blessings and recommendations.
The CM also obliges majority of those senior MLAs making them Vice chairman ( Darjadhari Mantries) who couldn’t be made ministers due to the constitutional restriction of numbers in the state cabinet.
You must be remembering that prior to becimjnv tge chief minister and cabinet minister in Uttarakhand former MLA and CM Vijay Bahuguna and Satpal Maharaj were the Vice chairman ( state minister Rank holder) in Uttarakhand while in Congress years ago.
A veteran journalist, columnist and activist Rajeev Nayan Bahuguna has written a very relevant and humorous post on Facebook after the Uttarakhand CM released a new list of Dayitwadharies yesterday. He wrote on FB : Honorable responsibility holders!
On the lines of the Uttarakhand government, in competition with it, and parallel to it, I am distributing responsibilities to all my friends, well-wishers and readers.
It is the responsibility of all of you to protect democracy in the state by staying away from rumours, communalism, selfishness and greed.
Reprimand those who create a deadly discrimination between the hill people and the plain people in the state. If necessary, give them appropriate but mild physical punishment as well.
Be aware of environmental protection and lead a disciplined life.

All of you are now responsible, and your responsibility is much more serious and important than that of the fake state ministers who have been given a toy.
