Ankita Nyay Yatra activists protest at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi to expedite the CBI probe monitored by the SC judge to bring the VIP to justice
The Ankita Bhandari Nyaya Yatra today reached Delhi at Jantar Mantar and registered their protest to expeditiously bring the culprit, VIP of this case to justice.
Though the CBI probe has been instituted in this case after the Uttarakhand CM Pushkar Singh Dhami recommended it to the centre due to immense pressure from the people in Uttarakhand and at the pan India level , the protestors say that there seems to be no action in this most sensitive case.
The protestors were raising slogans and majoroty of the women and men protestors led by CPI( ML) Harish Maikhuri, Charu Tiwari , Garima Mahra Dasauni, Dhirendra Pratap and Laxman Rawat under the scorching heat were raising slogans against the Uttarakhand government blaming them for allegedly delaying the CBI enquiry into the Ankita Bhandari case and not bringing the main culprit , the VIP to book.
Prominent among those who participated in this demonstration were Umakant Lakhera, Harish Maikhuri, Anil Pant, Charu Tiwari, Dhirendra Pratap, several Women activists of Congress, Garima Dasauni and Laxman Rawat.
The vice president of Uttarakhand Congress was detained in the parliament police station as according to Anil Pant the police said that permission for the demonstration at Jantar Mantar was not asked for. Pratap accused the police to have taken his mobile and other belongings and detained him for several hours by the Parliament police station personal and not allowed to contact anyone.
The main demand of the protestors were to expedite the CBI probe, make it transparent and should be monitored by a Supreme Court judge.
