Congress government will resolve all the grievances of Uttarakhand transporters : Suryakant Dhasmana

A meeting of Uttarakhand unit of Dehradun transporters under the auspices of All India Motor Transports Congress was held in Dehradun. The meeting commenced with the transporters paying their floral tributes to CDS Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika Singh and eleven brave hearts, officers and soldiers of Indian Army who shockingly died in the Army chopper crash at Neelgiri hills in Cunnoor, Tamilnadu yesterday.

The meeting was presided over by the state vice president Ansuiya Prasad Uniyal with the Uttarakhand Congress menifesto committee convenor, Vice President of the state Congress Suryakant Dhasmana being the chief guest.

A seminar was organised to discuss the grievances of the transporters of Uttarakhand in which the Uttarakhand Congress Vice president Suryakant Dhasmana assured the participants to resolve their demands in case the Congress party comes to power in the ensuing assembly elections going to polls in February, March 2022.

The participating transporters discussed their grievances in detail and urged the senior state Congress leader Dhasmana to fulfill them forthwith to which he agreed to. Mr. Surya Kant Dhasmana patiently heard their grievances and assured to adress them in case his party forms the government in Uttarakhand. He also assured them to incorporate some of the important demands of the transporters in the Congress election menifesto.

The major demands of these transporters are : opening of transport centres, ( Transport Nagars) at necessary towns where they are technically feasible and necessary. The harrasment by police and COU must be stopped forthwith. The orders for restriction in industrial areas ( no entry) must be revoked forthwith and alternatives route given to the transporters. It was also demanded that the vehicles with national permit be freed from Jila punchayats and tehbazaaries. The policy of increase in excel load by the centre may be implemented in the state. The STA and RTA members nominated by the state should be from the Transporters of the state. A sewer line should be given in Dehradun Transport Nagar and the lavatories cleaned forthwith. The liquor shop at the gate of Transport Nagar should be shifted elsewhere immediately and the parking as well as the encroachment problems should be resolved the earliest.

The meeting also demanded nomination of the member from state transport organisation in the state transport policy decision making body. Those present in the meeting were Ansuiya Prasad Uniyal, Surya Kant Dhasmana, Adesh Saini, Ashok Grover, Jasvinder Singh, Rakesh Dhawan, Trilok Singh, Navneet Oberoi, Dalbir Singh Kaler, Amandeep Singh Randhava, Surendra Singh, Shahid Hussain, Ashok Gulani, Yogesh Gambhir n others.
